How has your perspective on faith changed over the course of the semester?

My perspective on faith has only grown positively over this past semester, with Finding God in all Things Project to the Haiku Deck, these reflections have reminded me that God comes with all good times and struggles. Our Finding God in all Things Project has made me aware that even in our darkest struggles of today's times, God will always be there to guide us. Seeing how human trafficking has been around for so long is awful, and reminds people that there are still serious challenges that we need to overcome together, but researching how so many organizations have helped stop these kinds evils reminds our community that even though there will always be evil in the world, good will always find a way to overcome.
https://polarisproject.org/human-trafficking/facts

Having the reflection with the Haiku Deck made me look at my experiences in another way. With my trip to Compton and seeing how fortunate I am to be raised in Pasadena did remind me of how I should always be appreciative of what I have, but having the encounter of Berry put another perspective of people outside our bubble. Berry showed me that even with the littlest a person can have, you can always choose to appreciate it and always be happy with what you have. Although our encounter was short, seeing her glow with where she had, impacted my perspective on my faith.

Overall, seeing how where there is bad in the world, comes good and being happy and satisfied with the little things you have in life. This has made positively growth within my faith, and shown me that people can only choose to come together and help a cause and choose to be happy, no one else can tell them how they should feel or what they should do.

How do you feel that you’ve grown personally over the course of the semester? What have you learned about yourself?

I feel that I have grown to know more about my priorities and what I would want to focus on in the future. One of the mini games we did in class was one of the biggest influences on my priorities. We passed around two cards of 5-6 colors and wrote down what we thought was the most important priorities to us. After we were done we were told a story and how each action costed us 2 priorities. Although it was hard to throw away my best friend and even my own church, what I came down to my #1 priority was to become the best person I can be when I get older. Under that category came, knowing exactly who I am and becoming completely happy, and with being completely happy comes self-confidence.

I always knew that that was a one of my top priorities but seeing what I would sacrifice to become that person, I learned that with having a happy life comes with knowing who you truly are. While I am still a freshman in high school I am still figuring out who I want to be when I get older, I would want to take the best path possible with God by my side.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ONKoFlwtlbs

How do you feel your faith or how you’ve grown can impact others and the world?

Even though not everyone will experience the things I have experienced, people can take what they have gone through and see how they have grown within the best or worst of situations. Growth and happiness is not something a person can tell you to do or how to feel but by taking your struggles and growth in the best way can make you become the way you want to be. Choosing to be happy is your own decision, it not only improves your own world view, but is contagious to the point where it proliferates through the community. The way my faith has grown can impact the community by setting an example to lead others to complete and absolute happiness.

https://howtobehappy.guru/true-happiness-comes-from-within-but-why/
