Strengths:
- Descriptive and effective in citing past relevant research

- Experiment was conducted with two correlating metrics, one measurable being heart rate and the other being the participants' cited ability to describe people

- Results were sorted through various means, creating various correlations such as between gender and state anxiety scores, adding nuance and detail to the results

Weaknesses:
- The research selected volunteers from a random pool, resulting in outliers with differences in heart rates

- Lack of control experiment due to practical limitations lends the research to be single-sided at best with potential inaccuracies

Future Research:
- Explore the extent at which stress limits an individual's ability to identify

- Exploring different situations such as extreme sports or fairground rides, as different situations may yield different state anxiety levels

- Finding other means other than sight to identify sources of anxiety in similar situations

Strengths:
1) The study is conducted in a simulated real-life environment, and it generated better results compared to the laboratory setting.
2) participants were not prepared for the 'scare person' so that they will not force on him in advance.
3) post-identification confidence was asked of the participants, it showed a strong association with accuracy in the previous study.

Weaknesses
1) The participants are admitted in groups during the walking, the researcher had not considered the possibility of participants may communicate and their memory of the target may get influenced.
2) variable of age was not considered in this study, the participants were randomly picked from the visitor to the London Dungeon and their mean age of 31 shows that majority of participants are young and vitality.

Further research
1) anxiety can be due to different kinds of stimulation more than terrifying, study on other conditions of anxiety influence eyewitness identification should also be considered.

Strengths:
-Versatality, data collected comes from a range of different individuals with vast backgrounds and professions
-Aim of research is clear, to look into the extend of accuracy in eye witnesses under high levels of anxiety
-Purpose of study is hidden from participants to maintain fairness and accuracy, as people who become an eye witness typically are unaware beforehand
-Procedure of experiment is maintained fair through all participants, given the same set of 7minutes in the labyrinth and had encountered the scary person while walking
-Journal ariticle provided the main objectives of the effects of stress when faced with real crimes
-Introduction to the background of the research was clearly stated and explained better for the readers to review

Weaknesses:
-Sample of participants may mostly have similar preferences coming from the same country and area, and may result in biasness
-Research problem may be more severe than realised, as eyewitnesses may witness a wide range of possible crimes, from more lenient ones to severe and traumatic crimes that would directly affect the reaction and effects on the eye witness.
- It is too difficult to replicate the actual experience of real life anxiety situations
-Participants were of random and had nothing to do with the victims of crimes
-It is inaccurate to say that high arousal stress is different between different sexes
-The experience of facing a crime is completely different from being scared in a controlled environment with slight prior knowledge that there will be scares, and is a different kind of fear especially in severity, which may cause inaccurate interpretation

Future research:
-Same research can be carried out upon more places and timings, where participants are of a different context, location, and timing
-Re-access the theory and framework, implementing new theories, or can take in to consideration a true real life incident
- Consideration of the difference between genders may be removed to maintain a fair research

AIM: To test the hypothesis that high arousal (stress) can reduce eyewitnesses ability to recall information and identify a perpetrator.
THE REASON for this experiment: To surmount the constraints of lab experiments in this area by visually examining eyewitness (EW) identification in genuine life settings where the witness would not be a vigilant they would have to provide a testimony in which they would be tested on.
STRENGTHS: Represents individual contrasts as opposed to contrasting those in the exploratory condition and a benchmark group - the quality uneasiness gave a standard measure with which examinations could be made.

There were good controls because the same actor, questionnaire, and lineup were used each time.

It was a field study, meaning it took place in a natural environment.

The researchers made sure to obtain informed consent.before proceeding with the study.

WEAKNESS: The members were told prior to entering the prison they would need to wear a heart monitor, maybe proposing to them that something terrifying would happen to them - this might imply that they were hoping to see something tension inciting which might imply that their response to the frightening individual wasn't quite so surprising as a genuine onlooker.
FUTURE RESEARCH: Specialists ought to consider the emotional state of the observer at the hour of the occasion while thinking about the precision of eyewitness testimony (EWT).
