For an insight driven approach, we could use the 6 areas highlighted as preferred choices from the JFL insight (See below) as our 6 sessions. Coaching, Refereeing, Sport Science, Football Development, Futsal, Careers in Football. Run sessions simultaneously so the kids pick 3 out of 6 sessions to attend, best for 12-16's as that's who we asked- SL 02/03/18

There are no real guidelines on what these days should entail, but they have been put together on the back of feedback from Young Leaders. The current picture is that age groups are split over two days, the Young Leaders Camp is designed for 12-16 year olds and the Young Leaders Development Day is designed for 16 – 24 year olds. However, we have always struggled with numbers for the Development Day, so there is the option to do one Development Day and open it up to all ages.

Target
Aim for 30 attendees to attend the Young Leaders Event in April.


Project Goals
1. Enthuse and inspire young people about football and volunteering
2. Enable young leaders to develop their skills and knowledge
3. Provide young leaders with opportunities to volunteer in the local community
4. Provide an overview of areas of football which young leaders might not have considered before

Budget: £2,000

Timeline
Event to be delivered in Easter Holidays (April). Please produce a project plan detailing timescales for event promotion, bookings to be taken etc.

Support
There is support available from the Football Development team. Please keep Mike Gilham up to date with progress. Any budget/bookings will require sign off internally.

We have a range of expertise between the Surrey FA team (Pete Augustine, FDO's, FA Skills Team) and the Youth Forum to do a lot of it internally. Having one "big name" speaker or session from outside will always attract more people to come to the event though. SL 02/03/18
