Second, I've really enjoyed this journey, and I finish it with lots of wonderful new ideas on how to implement music in my lessons. I've always been into using chants, rhymes, songs, etc., in my classes, however, I found myself limited when it came to using Colombian songs, I didn't know how to articulate the subject with the topic of the song. But now, the resources you've provided us have helped me to clear my mind and think of new strategies in my classes, this course has been so inspiring and I'm sure I will use it a lot!

There's a good organization of the topics from each module, the colors are catchy, and the navigation is intuitive. It's clear that you went through a well-thought process to put everything together and create a balance between content and design.

Additionally, I appreciate the valuable tips for voice care. Teachers must know about it, as it is often overlooked or forgotten. I'll put into practice the exercises and advice you gave in the podcast as well as the youtube playlist.

🌺 I have always had an interest in incorporating Colombian culture into my classes. However, I hadn't previously considered incorporating the musical aspect because I lacked knowledge about its history, traditional instruments, origins, genres, and more. As a result, I felt somewhat lost.
Now, thanks to this course, the songbook and of course the creators, I learned new things about our culture and how to incorporate Colombian music into the English classroom with music-related activities.

I'll make sure to promote cultural awareness and appreciation for the various musical styles of our country while the students learn histories, traditions, and other perspectives.

From its very beginning it surprised me the noticeable effort put into this course, one just must acknowledge the variety of resources and research behind this job to ensure that.

Also, I want to highlight some aspects of this course that I found highly interesting. First, it proposes activities that are easy to carry out and that I found very useful since my teaching style is mostly kinesthetically oriented. Second, I really liked how the authors add modern songs and artists that try to follow traditional rhythms, as a way to perpetuate traditions and regional identity. Third, diving deep into the songbook provided by this course, I found some activities that promote critical thinking and interculturality.

In addition, I also want to share my thoughts on activities aimed to perform 'traditional' songs in English language, because I find it problematic in the sense that English language has been historically used to perpetuate power structures. Nevertheless I truly think this is a step in the right way.

Finally, I want to thank the authors for inviting me to take this course. It is interesting and it expresses a feeling of closeness with the authors, a very human job. After exploring all the materials I could trace a path to bring cultural identity to the classroom. It made aware how to connect music, history, English and creativity. I was reluctant to use translations, however it is really appealing the way we can connect our memories and Colombian songs in English. I think Colombian music in the classroom can include a practical component to play instruments and articulate subjects to foster interdisciplinary approaches.

Definitively, this type of research and practices must be supported and implemented in the EFL classroom. Music is an amazing tool to make attractive, effective and enjoyable classes for both children and adults. Furthermore, it is really innovative the fact of including colombian rythms (Anyone who ever  had said that including colombian topics in an English class is impossible should take this course!).

I have always said that music was one of my motivations to learn languages, so that's why I consider that music is helpful while learning some of the language abilities. Of course, we are used to using music in our English lessons but it is always music from English native speakers, and sometimes we leave aside our own music,  that music that represents our diverse culture as Colombian, that tells stories about our country's history, so I think is very remarkable that you offer some ideas and bases about Colombian music and how to use it in the English classroom, I think it helps me to have new ideas to structure future lessons. 

2. I think that until I participated in this project for me was almost impossible because as I mentioned before, we usually use the music of native speakers in the English classroom. Now I think that is feasible. I had the remote idea to use colombian music as the tipical translation game, but this course gave me other ideas that I will happily implement in my lessons.  Also, I think that is very helpful for our students since they can learn costumes and traditions from other Colombian regions, to listen to other rhythms and appreciate them as part of what we are, not only label that music as old music, and i am especially talking about people from Bogotá who use to neglect Colombian traditional music.

The clear but often overlooked similarities when it comes to different aspects such as rhythm which are essential to both. Music is often used when teaching a language only for the fact that there is an example of pronunciation, leaving aside the actual instruments which often reflect rhythm even better.
2. Using colombian music is specially helpful in Colombia, since it not only enables people to create contextualized environments, but also sets a feeling of familiarity for learners, as it probably isn't the first time they hear those types of compositions.
