I like that the photos capture a special moment in time for those being photographed and are likely appreciated by those involved. I also notice and appreciate the color composition of them. The red representing love, and the hint of color alterations in the last photo (cheeks).

Because they are "found" images that have lost their original meaning, they become springboards for story telling.

I noticed the people in the photos are posing and looking straight at the camera, and the photo captures a significant moment in time with little to no background of whats going on, giving the viewer a wide range of imagination.

I noticed all the photos give unintentional historical data. Also, the bicycle photo has good composition, the red dress photo has non-existent composition, and the bridge has ok composition except for the annoying lipstick-like structures overhead. Apparently, vernacular photos may or may not contain professional characteristics.

These are just everyday life images for them that they would only know how much that moment mattered to them but to anyone else we would just wonder what the photo was for.

They remind me of the photos that one would make into a postcard. All different genres and various subjects created by the amateur photographer.

I love how these photos capture real, messy moments that feel way more authentic than any staged studio portrait. The "mistakes," like a blurry shot or a random background detail, actually make the memory feel more alive and relatable. It’s also just cool to see how ordinary people lived back then, from their everyday clothes to the way they hung out with friends.

I love how their expressions seem to mean so much and it completely changes the vibe of the photo. They are also all similarly standing close to one another maybe symbolizing something deeper like family or memories
