Why did the Red Coats fire into the unarmed crowd? Did they feel the need to protect themselves? But what would they need to protect themselves from? They could have dodged more protests, but now, with the news of the Boston Massacre spreading, they caused Britain much more than boycotts.

What was the objective in the Red Coats' decisions? For instance: the British wanted the colonists to have no weapons, because they didn't want any resistance. But surely they knew they couldn't keep resisting the colonists forever. So why did they even try to push the colonists in that direction?
