To counteract the flood risk present in Taguig, the Hagonoy Pumping Station was built. Pumping stations are buildings or infrastructure that directs water from one place to another place and they can be used for disaster risk management measures. They can also lessen the amount of water from the flooding event in order to lessen its magnitude. To detect where the fault line is, pieces of equipment such as strainmeters, creepmeters, and tiltmeters are used. This will help notify authorities and people to prepare for such scenarios which will avoid cluelessness during the phenomenon. The advantages of using these types of equipment is that it helps us detect something from our surroundings as soon as possible and further lessen the impact on the communities caused by the natural phenomena. However, these also come with a cost.

With these pieces of technology, it may increase government spending which would increase the taxes being imposed on the citizens but it is for the common good since it is for the sake of the safety of the citizens. However, human efforts such as integrating DRRM into our lifestyles should be complimented along with the use of these pieces of technology. Another way of solving water pollution would be water treatment plants since they are also capable of turning dirty/contaminated water into water suited for human use or consumption. Through these technological advances, these can improve the results shown in the scientific as it will reduce the pollution.

However, using these pieces of technology would not be enough to completely solve the problem since they involve waste production since they can only do so much when the sources of these types of pollution are present within Taguig. According to the NSW Environment Protection Authority (2017), the most favorable waste management measure would be avoiding and reducing waste.
