The video gives context about what an oath is and also how they can be twisted to take advantage of people. The video gives an example of how people can say they are swearing on "God's Temple" and therefore they don't have to hold up their oath because it is not directly swearing on God. Jesus just tells us to avoid this by not ever making any oaths that are put on God's earth and creations, promises are okay.

2) The video explains Jesus reasoning for heading others about the consequences of objectifying others. The video elaborates on the hyperbole of getting rid of body parts that will cause one to objectify others.

Jesus was taking the law of retaliation to a new level. He described the idea that individuals don't always have to fight back against someone who has wronged them but rather be the bigger person.

The video helped us understand that Jesus wasn't just comparing murder to name-calling or anger, but rather explaining how all of those are surface level reactions, which show how you don't respect another individual. He isn't saying that they are equally bad things, but rather that they are are all ways of disregarding and disrespecting others.
