Financial strain and its effects on students' mental, physical, and social health.

According to the study, college students often experience financial stress due to their financial situation, unexpected expenses, and limited budgets. This stress can negatively affect their academic performance, mental health, and physical well-being (Nasr, R., Rahman, A.A., Haddad, C. et al). It can lead to anxiety, trouble focusing on studies, and even health issues like fatigue or poor nutrition. Many students also take on part-time jobs to cover expenses, leaving them with less time for schoolwork, which can further impact their success.

Financial problems are a major source of stress for students in colleges and universities around the world. Research shows that worrying about tuition, daily expenses, and financial stability can cause anxiety and affect students' well-being (Aherne, 2001; Joo, Durband, & Grable, 2008; Roberts, Golding, Towell, & Weinreb, 1999). These financial struggles can make it harder for students to focus on their studies, impact their mental health, and lower their academic performance.

Aherne, D. High levels of stress can lead to anxiety, difficulty concentrating, and even physical health problems . When students are forced to work long hours to cover expenses, they have less time for studying, which can lower their academic success and future opportunities.

By implementing solutions like financial aid, budgeting support, and flexible payment options, we can help students focus on their education without the constant burden of financial worries. Supporting students financially leads to better academic outcomes, improved mental health, and a stronger, more skilled workforce in the future.
