Assalamualaikum and hi ! For my first day usrah I will share about 'Adab of Seeking Knowledge' and 'Adab of The Quran’ .

Seeking knowledge is a noble journey that brings a person closer to Allah. A hadith in Sahih Muslim mentions that whoever travels a path in search of knowledge, Allah will ease his path to Paradise. This shows that learning is not only about gaining information, but also an act of worship. Adab in seeking knowledge includes both outward and inward manners. Outward manners are actions such as taking notes, reviewing lessons, asking questions, doing extra reading, and preparing for class. Inward manners, on the other hand, involve having the right intention, setting clear goals, respecting teachers, showing good manners, and being consistent. The purpose of learning is not just to get qualifications or jobs, but to shape ourselves into better human beings. True knowledge teaches us to know, to do, to live together, and to be. In short, seeking knowledge with proper adab makes learning more meaningful and helps us succeed in this world and the Hereafter.

Next , The Qur’an is the final revelation and a guide for mankind. It teaches about the signs of the Creator, the Oneness of Allah, the stories of the Prophets, and the Seerah. The best way to learn from the Qur’an is through reliable translations, trusted scholars, and authentic resources. The purpose is to understand our role as servants of Allah and fulfill our responsibilities. The adab of the Qur’an includes starting with Ta’awudh and Tasmiyah, reciting with wudu calmly and melodiously, sitting respectfully, handling the Qur’an with care, placing it in a raised position, not putting other books on top, pronouncing every letter correctly, not interrupting others, and closing it properly after reading . In short, the Qur’an is not just to be read, but respected and practiced in life.

Assalamualaikum and hi ! For my second discussion in usrah, I will share about 'Rukun Islam' . This is an important and interesting topic to learn and understand!

Rukun Islam is the basic foundation of every Muslim’s life. It has five pillars that guide us in worship and daily practice. The first is shahadah, saying that there is no god but Allah and Prophet Muhammad is His Messenger. The second is solat, praying five times a day to stay close to Allah. The third is zakat, giving part of our wealth to help the poor. The fourth is sawm, fasting in Ramadan to learn patience and self-control. The last is hajj, the pilgrimage to Makkah for those who are able.

In short, Rukun Islam teaches Muslims to worship Allah sincerely and live as good people. By practicing these five pillars, we can strengthen our faith, help others, and gain success in this world and the Hereafter .

Assalamualaikum and hi ! for my third discussions in usrah i will share about the first 3 pillars in 'Rukun Iman' . So as known by muslims, Rukun Iman is the foundation of a Muslim’s faith. It consists of six main beliefs that every Muslim must accept in their heart. These beliefs guide Muslims to live with obedience to Allah and prepare for the Hereafter.

The first Rukun Iman is to believe in Allah. Muslims must have faith that Allah is the one and only God, the Creator of everything. The second is to believe in the angels. Angels are created by Allah to carry out His commands, such as Jibril who delivered revelations to the prophets. The third Rukun Iman is to believe in the holy books, such as the Qur’an, which is the final book revealed to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). In conclusion, the Rukun Iman shapes the faith and life of every Muslim. By believing in these pillars, Muslims strengthen their trust in Allah and live with guidance, purpose, and hope for the Hereafter.

As a continuation of last week’s topic, i will discuss the pillars of faith in Islam, known as the Rukun Iman.

The fourth pilllars of Rukun Iman are to believe in the prophets and messengers who were chosen by Allah to guide mankind. We must always be grateful, as even the Prophet constantly expressed gratitude to Allah, whether for small or big matters , In everything that happens to us, whether good or bad, we should always be thankful and say Alhamdulillah. The fifth Rukun Iman is to believe in the Day of Judgment. On that day, every person will be rewarded or punished according to their deeds. The importance of believing in the Hereafter are all people will become better (we will take care of every behavior and avoid doing evil), It shows the perfection of Allah, It makes us feel more fearful and conscious of Allah, It motivates us to abandon sins and compete in doing good deeds. Lastly, the sixth Rukun Iman is to believe in Qada’ and Qadar, which means everything happens by the will and knowledge of Allah.Qadar is Allah’s decree that is set before something happens, while Qada refers to Allah’s determination after it has already taken place. Our marriage partner, lifespan, and all matters in life are part of the destiny predetermined by Allah. Life itself is about making choices, but whatever we choose is in fact the best for us, because Allah already knows what is truly good. As human beings, we can only plan, but ultimately Allah is the One who decides. Both sadness and happiness are creations of Allah.

Believing in Qada and Qadar brings many wisdoms. It makes us feel calm and at peace, because we know that everything is already in Allah’s plan. It helps us to focus on the present without worrying too much about the future, since Allah has already chosen what is best for us. This belief also nurtures contentment and humility, preventing us from becoming arrogant, as we realize that everything happens only by Allah’s will. Moreover, it removes negative traits such as envy, anger, and jealousy, while encouraging us to develop noble qualities .

In conclusion, Rukun Iman is the core of a Muslim’s belief. By practicing and holding firmly to these six pillars of faith, Muslims can strengthen their relationship with Allah and live a righteous.

Assalamualaikum and hi ! For my first group task in usrah , I am required to do role play either through video or a poster in a group. My group consisting Damia , Qaseh , Nabila and I were assigned the topic 'Adab in the Digital World : Tiktok , Ai and ChatGpt' and here is the poster !

As part of our group work, I’ve been given the role of presenting on the topic ‘Use AI with Good Intentions and give the conclusion for our topic.

First of all, as everyone knows AI becomes part of our daily learning, it’s important to use it responsibly and ethically. “Using AI with good intentions” means treating it as a tool to support learning not to replace effort or honesty. There are three key principles:

Firstly, Seek Knowledge, Not Shortcuts Use AI to understand and explore ideas, not just to get quick answers. Learning requires effort, and AI should help us think not do the thinking for us.

Secondly, Be Respectful in Interaction Always use polite language, even when talking to machines. This reflects good manners and trains us to be ethical in digital communication.

Thirdly, Practice Academic Integrity Don’t copy and paste blindly. Read, understand, and express ideas in your own words. This shows true learning and protects your academic honesty.

Using AI with good intentions helps us grow as responsible, respectful, and thoughtful learners.

Ihsan is the highest level of faith in Islam, following Islam (outward practice) and iman (inner belief). It means to worship Allah as if you see Him, and if you cannot see Him, to know that He sees you. This concept nurtures 'muraqabah' a constant awareness of Allah’s presence. A muhsin (person who practices ihsan) not only performs religious duties but does so with sincerity, excellence, and deep devotion. Worship done with ihsan carries greater spiritual value and is more likely to be accepted by Allah.

In the context of the afterlife, ihsan plays a crucial role in determining salvation. The Qur’an states that “Allah loves the muhsinin” (those who do good with excellence), indicating that actions done with ihsan receive special reward and divine favour.

For today’s Muslim especially students and young professionals ihsan can be applied in all areas of life such as in studying, working, and interacting online. When done with sincere intention and best effort, every action becomes meaningful worship.

In Islamic ethics, adab refers to proper manners, respectful behavior, and the appropriate way of doing things. It is more than just a personal trait it is a continuous process of cultivating refined conduct in various aspects of life. Unlike akhlaq, which is internal and theoretical (such as sincerity, patience, or humility), adab is practical and observable. It involves how one speaks, acts, and responds to others in real situations, with clear distinctions between proper and improper behavior.

The story of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) offers a powerful example of adab in action. Despite facing opposition from his father, Prophet Ibrahim maintained respectful language, avoided hurtful expressions, and used reasoned arguments (hujjah) rather than insults. His humility, even when he possessed greater knowledge, reflects the essence of adab—to act with wisdom, restraint, and emotional intelligence.

The story of Prophet Ibrahim (a.s.) teaches us to use gentle language, avoid words that may hurt, and correct others especially parents with wisdom and reason, not harshness. Even when possessing greater knowledge, one must remain humble and honour the dignity of parents. Practicing adab in this way strengthens family bonds, reflects true Islamic character, and earns divine pleasure.

For me, Usrah is a meaningful space that helps strengthen my spiritual connection with Allah. Through du’a, and religious reminders, I feel more grounded in my faith. Usrah also allows me to gain and share knowledge with others. I learn not only from the facilitator but also from the experiences and insights of my group members. It helps me build a sense of sisterhood. I feel supported, heard, and encouraged to grow emotionally and spiritually in a safe environment. Also, Usrah teaches me about adab and akhlak, which helps me improve my character and become more mindful in my actions and speech. It also gives me the chance to develop leadership and communication skills. When I take part in discussions or lead a session, I gain confidence and learn how to express myself better. Most importantly, Usrah reminds me to live by Islamic values in my daily life and it inspires me to be kinder, more respectful, and more responsible especially as a student 💕 .

In my opinion, improvements in Usrah can be made by introducing more group activities. Activities such as small group discussions, interactive quizzes, or creative tasks can encourage active participation from all members. Through these activities, Usrah members not only gain a deeper understanding of the topics discussed, but also develop communication skills, teamwork, and a stronger sense of brotherhood and sisterhood. In addition, to ensure Usrah is easier to attend and not burdensome, its schedule should be adjusted to fit students’ academic timetables. This allows members to commit without disrupting their studies. It would also be beneficial to relate more Qur’anic verses and hadiths to current student situations. For example, showing how patience and trustworthiness can be practiced in completing assignments or in relationships with peers.

To ensure your prayer is valid, you must fulfill 7 conditions, such as being clean from impurities (hadas/najis), covering your aurat, ensuring it is prayer time, and facing the Qibla.

• Pillars of Prayer (Rukun): There are 13 essential pillars that must be performed in the correct order (Tertib) for the prayer to be accepted.

• Actions that Nullify Prayer: Your prayer will be invalidated if you talk, make many large movements, eat or drink, have your aurat exposed, or change your intention (niat) mid-prayer.

• Sunat Ab’adh vs. Hai’ah: If you accidentally or intentionally skip a "Sunat Ab’adh" (like the first Tahiyat or Qunut), it is recommended to perform the Prostration of Forgetfulness (Sujud Sahwi) before or after the final Salaam.

• Disliked Acts (Makruh): To keep your prayer respectful, avoid looking around or upwards, praying when food is served and you are hungry, holding in your "needs" (toilet), or praying while extremely sleepy.

2. Wuduk (Ablution)

Wuduk is the ritual purification using water before performing prayer.

• Requirements (Syarat Sah): Must be Muslim, mumayyiz (reached age of discernment), clean from menstruation/postnatal bleeding, use pure water (mutlak), and ensure no barriers prevent water from touching the skin.

• Pillars (Rukun):

1. Niat (intention)

2. Washing the face

3. Washing both arms up to the elbows

4. Wiping a portion of the head

5. Washing both feet up to the ankles

6. Following the sequence (Tertib)

• Nullification: Wuduk is invalidated by passing waste, deep sleep, loss of consciousness, touching a spouse/opposite sex (subject to discussion), or touching genitals with the palm.

• Sunnah Acts: Includes reciting Basmalah, washing hands, rinsing the mouth/nose, and wiping the ears.

3. Tayammum (Dry Ablution)

Tayammum is a substitute for Wuduk using clean dust/soil when water is unavailable or cannot be used.

• Reasons for Tayammum: Absence of water within reach, presence of danger (enemies/wildlife) near water, or medical conditions where water would hinder healing.

• Pillars (Rukun):

1. Niat (intention)

2. Wiping dust onto the face and both hands (using two separate pats on the dust)

3. Following the sequence (Tertib)

4. Khusyu’ (Focus in Prayer)

Khusyu’ refers to the state of mental and physical calmness and humility during prayer.

• Definition: It is a sunnah (recommended) act, not a rukun (pillar). It involves focusing, understanding the recitation, and being mindful that one is communicating with Allah.

• Obstacles: Distractions (Was-was) and being preoccupied with worldly desires or things one loves/hates.

• How to Achieve Khusyu’:

- Preparation: Clean yourself, wear clean clothes, and pray in a quiet place.

- During Prayer: Understand the meaning of the recitations, look at the place of prostration (sujud), minimize unnecessary movement, and avoid praying when hungry or holding back the urge to use the bathroom.

Improvements

In my opinion, improvements in Usrah can be made by prioritizing relevant and practical content that bridges the gap between faith and modern struggles such as mental health, digital burnout, and ethics in our place of study while ensuring every session ends with a concrete, practical habit for members to implement during the week. Furthermore, the experience should be enhanced through dynamic activities like a change of scenery meeting at a park, cafe, or going on a hike and engaging in group projects such as community service, which effectively transforms abstract spiritual theories into lived, collective action .
