The source material and research that Dr. Miller shared was amazing. It works on both an ELA level and History level. Great opportunity for cross-curricular study. 

Could possibly see a Black History month and pair it with National Poetry month.

2. We want to work to develop school-wide approaches (at least within Social Studies and English) to research and exploring primary sources. We also want to help students focus on synthesizing the sources in their writing.
3. We will work to create goals for each grade level pertaining to their skills in researching and writing. We will share all of the resources with respective departments. We want to create modules in Canvas and use Badgr to award badges to students and teachers who complete them. Pre-tests could be used each year to re-evaluate skills.
