During this stage, a baby establishing a relationship and a sense of comfort with people and items. For me, out of both of my parents, I preferred to be with my mother and would always seem to be more calmer around her than my dad. Mostly because of his career, he was always in the barracks while me and my mom were home so I was more comfortable with her. I would scream being left with my dad. If she was in the room, I would be fine. Or she would just take me with her most times. "babies need to develop a balance between trust, which lets them

form intimate relationships, and mistrust, which enables them to protect themselves. "

When I was this age, I was going through potty training. Autonomy is key when developing a sense of success or failure. I was rewarded for going to the potty, when I finally started to go on my own without my mom's help I felt as if I finally could do it on my own. I established autonomy over shame or doubt.

"In toddlerhood, the critical theme is autonomy, or a sense of agency and independence."

During this time, my parents were divorcing and having arguments. As any kid, I always had questions so I would immediately ask why argue, what happened during the argument. My dad would get mad at those questions which always made me feel bad for asking so I wouldn't anymore. During this time, kids are more willing to act on something as a preschooler. But if redirected or made to feel negative, they will stop a behavior.

"Guilt, shame, and pride are known as the social emotions because they help regulate social interactions and are involved with moral development. If you feel ashamed after getting caught doing something others think is bad, that might keep you from doing it again."

am currently in this stage as a 22 year old. During this stage, we are forming relationships and love among people. If it fails, we experience isolation and I have been through this. I have a strong relationship with my family and friends, I am aware of our closeness and love. I have been in romantic relationships that did not last and I realized that that failed and I had a period of loneliness and I learned more during my time alone. "women develop identity through intimacy, not before it. However, given changes in social structure and the increased role of women in the workplace, it may be that these gender differences are less important than they were previously and individual differences play more of a role now"

Such as having a family to care for, do charity and volunteer work, being successful in a career and leading to retirement. But if we don't have the sense of security at that age, we have a sense of failure. "relevant to the development of self-esteem in middle childhood"
