Hello, Woodland Elementary in Oak Ridge, TN has recently gone through a STEM certification process, and this process sounds very familiar to the AdvancedEd STEM certification process that we went through a year ago to become a STEM certified school. Will the state of TN look at this certification in deciding whether or not the school also qualifies as a designated Tennessee STEM school, or will we have to go through this process again with the state of TN?

Answer- The Tennessee STEM School Designation is the only STEM certification that the Tennessee Department of Education will recognize. Any schools that have received certification from other entities will have to apply for Tennessee STEM School Designation if they wish to be recognized within our state for quality STEM teaching and learning.
