Guatavita is a great place to visit on the weekend, because there are things to see such as: Guatavita´s lake and the old town, also you can have typical desserts and food. For travelling to Guatavita, you take a bus in the north bus station, the ticket cost 10.000 colombian pesos. This place is beautiful, peaceful and touristy. The best time to travel there is during the morning because you can enjoy all day there doing different activities.

In Guatavita there are many types of hotels, cheap and expensive hotls, you can stay where you want (depending on your budget). For visit Guatavita you must bring sunblock beacuse the sun is strong there, also you must bring water as well as confortableclothes.

The history of Guatavita is interesting. The name of the city comes from the Cacique Guatavita who was the indigenous leader in that time.

It is an important and lovely place to visit whit your family.
