         <description><![CDATA[<p>1. Dorsal- towards the back</p><p>2. Ventral- towards the front or belly</p><p>3. Superior -towards the top or head</p><p>4. Inferior- towards the bottom or feet</p><p>5. Prone- lying face down</p><p>6. Supine- lying face up</p><p>7. Medial- midline of body</p><p>8. Lateral- towards the outside or away from the midline</p><p>9. Anatomical Position- a position used as a reference to identify and describe the relation to the body parts to another</p><p>10. Distal- away from the main body or reference point </p><p>11. Proximal- towards the main body or reference point</p><p>12. transverse plane- a portion that horizontally cuts the body into two diff pieces </p><p>13. midsagittal plane- cuts the lower and upper body </p><p>14. frontal plane- cuts through the front of you</p><p>15. flexion- Bending a joint or decreasing the angle between two bones</p><p>16. extension- Straightening a joint or increasing the angle between two bones</p><p>17. pronation- turning the arm or foot downward</p><p>18. supination- turning the arm or foot upward</p><p>19. elevation- raising a part </p><p>20. depression- lowering a part</p><p>21. internal rotation- Rotation of the hip or shoulder toward the midline</p><p>22. external rotation-Rotation of the hip or shoulder away from the midline</p><p>23. circumduction-Tri-planar, circular motion at the hip or shoulder</p><p>24. plantar flexion- Ankle movement pointing the foot downward</p><p>25. dorsiflexion- Ankle movement bringing the foot towards the shin</p>]]></description>
