The Caste System was a status system used in India, linked to Hinduism. The name of Caste System was established by the Europeans when they were in control of India. This system determined your political power, and economic status. The primary four groups of this system were the Bhramins, Kshatryia, Vaishya, and Sudra. However there is a group lower than all of these things called the Untouchables. At the top you had Bhramins who were priests and academics, and the very lowest were street sweepers, and latrine cleaners. It is believed that one's karma from the past life determined what you were going to be in the current life.

Although hinduism doesn't have a specific set of rules to follow, however they had specific morals and traditions. Their official higher deity is the Brahman, however there are many gods and goddesses that they worship. Something really important is the idea of reincarnation, so when you die in this life, you are reborn in the next. In Hinduism this lasts eternally, a constant cycle of life, death, rebirth. Karma plays into this, as how you act during your life determines the status of your next.
