He is incredibly bitter and envy's Caesar's rise to power as shown by how he is keen to point out Caesar's flaws. He defers to Brutus' personality on several occasions but in a quieter sense. He also cares to an extent for his peers as shown when he expressed great sympathy to Brutus upon the new of Portia's death

This bipolar mess of a human being is shown in the public eye as a successful and popular figure of great stature. He demonstrates not only his pride but his shrewdness, his strength and his weakness too, E.g his deafness and epilepsy. He is superstitious yet confident about his invulnerability to the laws of fate. He somehow manages to stay brave and was ready to accept destiny as seen when he accepts his assassinated but did not expect it. He is humbled by his wife's words to stay home but is easily intoxicated by Decius Brutus's words, this shows Julius's egoism for the sake of his public image.

Tbh, best leader King Carolus Rex 20/10

This edgy drama queen has some issues he has to work out. Brutus is constantly torn apart between serving his state (communism intensifies) or his soon to be king, Julius. Brutus is a deeply thought driven and emotional man yet he does not show it (through inner-monolouges though). He places great importance in doing what is honourable and does not act on impulse. He loves Julius but hates his ambitions. Brutus's feelings for his country is his driving resolution to participate in plot to murder Julius, but not without much agony since he loves Caesar so much. In short he is an honourable, brave, patient and cares for his state. He is a good husband, considerate master and a sympathetic friend. He also is a politically-naive self righteous shit-head.

Honor only really displayed by BrutusEvidence is how he:(would kill his friend to prevent a tyrant),(rather not take bribes to pay his army),(is naive in thinking that the conspirators are all like him),(Brutus called him the most noblest Roman of them all)Brutus:He was the only one that truly believed in his cause in the conspiracy.Naive about the backstabbing world of politicsCassius:Prepared to use any underhanded trick necessary to win. But, he saw politics for what it was and not stayed blind to it.Evidence:(literally everything he does in the entire book till his death)Brutus: He was an adapting character who had no problem with being underhanded but did it sparingly and when it was necessary. But, was also nobel as shown with his undying loyalty, but can be just as manipulating as cassius, as he tried to influence the choices made by Octavius, the successor of Julius Caesar.

Casca's characteristics is typically of any kind of observant person you can find in society. This is shown on how Casca comments on how he almost laughed at Julius Caesar for 'refusing' the crown three times dramatically which proves that Casca knows Caesar is merely putting up a public image to gain favour from the people of Rome. Casca also stated that all the political leaders were merely like 'actors' on the 'stage' appeasing the people of Rome. However, Casca is also quite superstitious, for being on edge at the 'abnormal events' that had occurred and insists that they are portents of danger ahead despite Cicero advising him that 'men may construe things after their fashion'.

It can be seen as through out the play, people are constantly betraying each other. One of which is that Brutus betrayed his friend, Caesar, by ultimately killing him. Cassius also made use of and exemplified friendship many times. This times included him using Brutus friendship with Caesar to later kill the latter. He also used his friendship with Brutus and the other conspirators to manipulate them to do what he wanted- Caesar's death. He also exemplifies betrayal as he betrayed Mark Anthony's trust for him. We could clearly see that Anthony believed that Cassius was a noble man, but he ended up killing Caesar. Hence, it was rather obvious on how Cassius showed this.

Theme: Love

LOVE FOR COUNTRY
Love for one's country can be seen from Brutus. Brutus loves Rome more than his friend Julius Caesar, him knowing full well that when Caesar becomes king, Rome will fall. This can be seen when Brutus said that he does "fear the people choose Caesar for their king" ~Act 1 Scene 2. He then tells Cassius that "Brutus had rather be a villager than to repute himself a son of Rome under these hard conditions as this time is like to lay upon us" ~Act 1 Scene 2. This shows that his love for Rome is greater than his love for Caesar, and thus portrays the theme of Love.

LOVE FOR WIFE
Brutus loves his wife, Portia. This can be seen during the scene where Brutus hides about the conspiracy against Caesar from Portia. Portia suspected something and told Brutus that "within the bond of marriage, Brutus, is it expected I should know no secrets that appertain to you?" ~Act 2 Scene 1. This implies that all along, Portia and Brutus have been exchanging secrets their whole married life, and that both are an open book to each other. This shows that it is habit to tell each other secrets, and it is unusual that Brutus is hiding something from her. His love for his wife shows when he finally tells her about the conspiracy, especially when Portia gives herself a voluntary wound in the thigh. This also shows a form of trust between the two, that Portia will not blurt about the conspiracy. Brutus then says out loud "O ye gods, render me worthy of this noble wife" ~Act 2 Scene 1. This further amplifies that Brutus loves Portia, calling her "noble".

LOVE FOR POWER
Cassius is jealous of Caesar, and craves power. This love portrayed here is not the typical humble and genuine love, but this love is powered by greed and bitterness, but love nonetheless. This love portrayed by Cassius strengthens as he pulls in more characters into the conspiracy, such as Brutus as his first victim. Cassius makes use of his cunning in order for his love for power to grow. A little bit of love for power can be seen in Caesar, as he develops himself to win the hearts of the plebeians, especially seen in the scene where he puts the crown by thrice. This act of putting the crown by gives the plebeians the mindset that Caesar is humble and will not be greedy, but in actual fact, as Casca says, "he would fain have had it", meaning that Caesar would most definitely love to have the crown, thus the love for power is seen through Caesar here.
