         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Many racial slurs emerged, the majority were originally directed towards enslaved African Americans. These derogatory terms were used by mainly white slave owners who wanted to degrade, dehumanize, and make their slaves feel inferior.</li><li>In the 18th century, race was used for sorting and ranking people. Leaders from the 1800's began to publicly assort and claimed that Africans are best suited for slavery.</li></ul>]]></description>
