The shot that we don't want to miss appears at 0:55s in the movie trailer. It is a medium shot, the characters are sitting, lying. Moreover, it is high-angle shot.Indeed, we can see the two main characters. There is Kate, who has a genetic disease called "Leukemia". She is lying on her bed. There is also Ana, her sister who was genetically selected, thanks to PGD and IVF, to save Kate's life. Ana is taking care of her sister Kate, who is sick. Both seem to be close. This shot really illustrates the idea of progress. Indeed, in today's society, we can select an embryo to save someone's life. However, it can be a moral question. Is this technic humane ?

It's illustrates their achievement in genetic engineering. Don't miss this shot if you want to admire the result of research like this.
Gousikaa / Angelika

The shot is at 1:06. It's a long shot which represents a laboratory in the dark where there is a lot of people in a sort of lightening egg. It's an important scene because It shows the secret element of the island's experience because the island seems perfect for everybody but in reality the government does experiences as cloning or extraction of members. It represents the idea of progress as well with the cloning, because they're looking for the perfection due to the contaminated world outside and this is for what Lincoln Six Echo is fighting during the film.
Morgann and Lynn.

We choose the shot at 0:34s. It's a close-up where we can see a family picture in a photo frame (a man, his wife and their son). We also can see the reflection of David, a robot child created to replace their son who is in a coma. David has a sad look for his adoptive family because the members of the family don't love him like their own son. He is jealous of the boy in a coma. David, who is a robot, has more feelings and emotions that we expected. It's a dark scene which maybe accentuates the distance between him and his adoptive family and his sadness about it.
Alice Guery & Leslie Houdas

The shot that you don't have to miss is at 1.05 minutes. So here, we can say that it's an usual shot because two shots are used; medium shot because we see an entire embryo and it also can be an extreme close-up because of the shot take inside the belly of a women. Maybe it can transmit emotion because it's the creation of a baby so obviously the creation of life. This shot refers to the idea of progress because the babies are the evolution, the renewal of the world. So, in this film it talks about the PGD, people are in fact genetically modified.

The shot that don't to miss is at 0.6 the first scene. It represents the most important theme of the movie Surrogates (name given to the clones), cloning. In this scene, we can see the clone of Radha Mitchell who plays the role of a FBI agent. She investigated with the agent Greer (played by Bruce Willis) about the murder of the surrogate's inventor. At the beginning of the trailer, we see the clone of agent Peter. A robot on which we had put a mask.

In which we can see a skin piece filled up with blood and which used on finger to be validated by a sort of blood identity detector. It's describe the idea of progress with the genetic identity identification, because the identity detector valid only "perfect" humans. It's a form of dystopia with identity validation to be someone. Moreover that's the purpose of the movie, do we need to be perfect to do the best ? Is the progress of genes to reach perfection is ethic ?

Shaalini
Izack

The most important shot in the trailer is at 35s. It's a close up, where we can see the reflect of the robot (David), on a family picture. Moreover, it's a high-angle shot. Indeed with the smile of the family we can feel the child's emotions who is a robot created to replace the biologic son of the family. He looks sad because his adoptive parents considered him just like a robot and not like a true child. He is jealous of the child on the picture (his brother) and it's a moment with a lot of emotions.
Moreover it's a very philosophical shot. Indeed with it, we could work on the childhood suffery, on the concept of humanity because sometimes the robot has more emotions than humans.
Matt et Kari

Between 0:05 and 0:19, in the first shot of the trailer, we can see an extreme close-up that takes place in a laboratory where we can see a female humanoid. It is made out of steel but a scientist is turning the robot into a human appearance being, covering her face with a mask that looks like human skin. This scene shows that each person in this society is not a real human but a robot. It seems that humanity is being replaced by high technologies because of scientific and technical progress. It raises the question : what could be the consequences of technical and scientific progress ?
