This was the turning point when human reason would start to take control over the superstitions and traditions of the past. This was when we would start to question our harsh treatment of criminals, which shows a real aha moment when we realized that criminals are people just like us. This was also a time when religious beliefs were more accepted and it was becoming known that there was multiple religions out there and it wasn't a big deal if someone had their own beliefs. This was when the power of the king was really put into question and people started to wonder if we even needed the royal family. This was also when people from the middle class started to get inspired by the enlightenment ideas and questioned the aristocratic order that remained. I feel like this was when people were starting to be placed into their own classes, like the third, second and first estates. This really started dividing people in what feels like an unnecessary way. This was a very important time when industry started to take over and jobs became much more readily available. This led to the formation of new cities and migration from rural areas into the cities. With this revolution, women and children were also being integrated into society better with jobs of their own and it was no longer just a man's duty to work and a women's duty to cook and clean. However, I feel like when this was happening, there were some places in the world like the middle east where their traditions just couldn't be overturned and they would continue their ways of having men be so much more important than women. A good example of how things were changing would be the women's suffrage movement. Women were starting to be seen as equal to men and their rights were being fought for. This was when a lot of the world started to see that they were wrong for treating women differently than men, although there were many places in the world that refused to acknowledge this. The middle eastern countries are a great example of this, with women having such harsh restrictions such as not being allowed to talk to any man who is not their husband, and having to cover as much of their skin as possible. We had people like Adolf Hitler who had these radical beliefs and would do just about anything to try get the world to see things their way. This kind of laid the groundwork for other radicals in history. This showed people how impactful they could be with violence and hatred. It feels like this is a time when hatred really started to prevail over everything else and these people filled with hatred were running large parts of the world and the fear they put into people helped to shape peoples opinions. This event was the result of so many years of tension and aggression built up and it impacted the world so heavily that nothing else can really compare to it in modern history. Most of this started when Osama bin Laden was the sponsor of a group called World Islamic Front for Jihad Against Jews and Crusaders (WIFJAJC) in 1996. Around this time he had started forming the group known as al-Qaeda which was making a large presence in Afghanistan where the extremist regime of the Taliban had already seized power. Osama bin Laden eventually became the head of al-Qaeda and declared war on the West and Israel. The attacks started in 1998 when al-Qaeda struck the U.S. embassies in Kenya and Tanzania, killing 224 people, including 12 Americans. This obviously upset president Clinton who launched a bombing campaign, although this campaign failed to kill any of the Taliban leaders. Then in 2000 they attempted to bomb the Los Angeles international airport, and they successfully bombed the USS Cole near the port of Yemen, killing 17 U.S. Navy sailors. Fast forward to September 11th 2001, and 19 men hijacked four jetliners and the attack on the World Trade Center happened. After all this, our president George W.
