      Though some of Belgium's finest cathedrals and churches were ripped down during the anti-religious turmoil of the 1790s, the Belgian Kingdom is still rich with strong standing religious sanctuaries with elegant and medieval architecture. Then according to data collected in 2012, about 65% of the population is Christian, with 58% being members of the Roman Catholic Church. Members of Protestant, or Eastern Orthodox churches make up 7% of the population.

   Belgian children, at the age of two and a half, are provided for mothers without any fees. The spaces are limited, so full-time working mothers are prioritized. Primary education is not essential, but it is popular, as childcare can be expensive. Thankfully,  approximately 90% of Belgian children age two and a half attend these facilities, which is a very promising number for busy mothers.
The classes are very informal and carry a lot of emphasis on play. With age, students are able to be in supervised classes learning music, engaging in physical activity, or begin their study of a second language.

The first September of the year in which a child reaches the age of six. The institution is free and available to everyone. 
The academically emphasized Primary Education lasts for six years and is in three cycles; First Cycle (Years 1 and 2), Second Cycle (Years 3 and 4), Third Cycle (Years 5 and 6). There is a strong language emphasis. German communities must teach French in the first cycle, and in Brussels, Dutch schools must teach French, and French schools must teach Dutch. The strong academic core highly encourages parents involvement in their child's education because homework is given at a young age and it also helps influence continuous growth for the adults too.

     Secondary Education begins at age 12, just like Primary education, it lasts for six years and consists of three cycles each lasting two years. Parents may be expected to make a contribution towards the cost of text books but otherwise the institution is completely free.
     In the first year of secondary education all students follow the same program. From the second year onward, the opportunities begin and courses then can be chosen according to preference and ability. These will lead to the future of their education, whether the path they take is artistic, technical, or general. 
     Students are regulated, and as their marks and attendance is maintained, or not, therefore students can, or cannot, receive a diploma at the end of their studies. Each student must take a test or exam (depending on age) at the end of their year to be assessed. If the student is not ready, they re-do the year. Student have the opportunity, or are insisted to "double". Doubling is if a student shows signs of not being prepared for the next step in their education. Doubling tends to be very popular in Belgium and so there is little stigma behind it.

     Higher Education in Belgium is organised by the Flemish and French communities. German speakers typically enroll into the French institutions, as they were taught the language in primary education, or pursue their studies in Germany. 
     The government sets the registration fee for each establishment and reviews it annually. The government offers three fee levels depending on the student's, or the student's family's financial situation. The Registration free is set at each of the establishments. These fees are reviewed annually for assessment. 
     The are eight main Higher Education institutes. that are available in the Belgian Kingdom and each offer a range of subjects that will suit each individuals strengths, interests, and qualifications. Most students are free to enroll in any institutions as long as they have their diploma, but students who are interested in continuing their students in medicine, dentistry, or arts, may face stricter administration entrance. Technical students often go to university/college to study or may start working straight after school.
