The group topic will be financial stressors, their causes, and their effects among college-level students. Although financial stress is typically a problem for this age group overll, it is particularly common among undergraduates, who are generally between the ages of 17 and 22, as they balance their financial and academic obligations.

Upon completion of this group, students will have mastered:

-Knowledge on college costs, options for paying for college, financial aid, scholarship processes and eligibility requirements to accurately plan for, and afford college.

-An understanding of school and community resources to help the students overcome financial resources.

To advertise to students, flyers will be placed around campus in common areas. The groups date, time, and meeting place will also be displayed on the universities events page that is displayed on all students dashboards.

4. Pre-Group Screening

Once students have voluntarily shown interest, they will complete a T-A-P Questionnaire prior to the initial meeting to ensure their interests and concerns align with the groups topic and outcomes. The questionnaire will be attached to the flyer as well as the digital announcement. The questionnaire will be mandatory to attend the initial meeting. The questionnaire will cover:

-The topic, expectations, and group outcomes.

-Questions regarding the students financial stability, concern, and goals.

5. Informed Consent

For students to make an informed decision about participation they will be given both a verbal and written, one-page handout, that summarizes purposes, goals, techniques, procedures, limitations, potential risks, limits of confidentiality, and benefits of services (DeLucia-Waack, 2006).

For those that are under the age of 18, a form for Informed Consent will be added to to the original questionnaire and handout they will be receiving prior.

I liked this resource in its implementation of members to seek out other services outside of the group if necessary. This resource also emphasizes the importance of confidentiality, group members safety, inclusivity, and preservation of ethics. Group members should:

-Feel safe in their group, and participants should not express aggressive behaviors or verbal threats.

-Understand the groups meaning and outcome.

-Respect confidentiality.

7. Group Dynamics

Stage 1: Trust will be built through cohesive sharing of similar issues and depressing that confidentiality may not be guaranteed but it is expected.

Stage 2: Ensure that the group is making progress by the sharing of newfound ideas acquired through group meetings and activities.

Stage 3: Students will have created their future financial plan unique to their own scenarios and will reflect on their accomplishments and knowledge.

To increase inclusion and participation among this specific age group, I feel that a participative leadership style would be the most beneficial to allow for a natural and comfortable group dynamic.

Many of Yalom's therapeutic techniques will be used including:

Development of socializing techniques - social learning or development of interpersonal skills as the students communicate and share knowledge on financial topics.
Imitative behavior - there may be participants her have successful financial achievements or knowledge that they share and others imitate.
Existential factors - recognition of the basic features of ultimate responsibility for their own actions and financial insecurity due to lack of planning or resources.
Interpersonal learning - sharing ideas, feedback, and identifying new solutions.
