Midas was the Greek King of Phrygia who was gifted an ability where everything that he touches to turns to gold. He was gifted this by the god Dionysus for Midas' hospitality to the Satyr Silenus. Midas unintentionally turned his daughter into gold trying to hold her and was unable to turn her back. He prayed to Dionysus to take back his wish which had turned into a curse. He commited suicide by drinking bull's blood during an attack from Cimmerians.
