This book is about a girl who is trying to figure out where her missing best friend is. My favorite part was when it was revealed that Claudia knew what happened but that the trauma made her forget everything she knew. This book would be interesting for students who like to read about suspense, friendship, and about mental health. I could use this book to teach students how to write essays citing the book for evidence. Chapter book read on 9/23/18. "Hot" new book.

This is one of my all time favorite books. It is about a boy who is giving a journal by his mom, and she is making him write in it. My favorite part is when Dean finds out why his dad was so scared for him to be out doing dangerous things; his uncle had died like that. This book would be interesting to any student who likes to read about acting more grown than you actually are. This book has so much going on it gets your attention as soon as you open it. It has Dean breaking his parents rules when he gets a new friend, he is getting his ear pierced, and he his drinking. I could use this book to teach comparing and contrasting characters. My favorite part of the book was when Jack (Logan's dog) a vicious dog shows kindness to Logan. This book would be interesting to students who like to read about dogs being a man's best friend, a good action story, and epidemics. I could use this book to teach about settings.

This book is about a girl who lives at her school and her life there. She has drama and crushes like any normal person, she takes classes that emphasize art. My favorite part of the story is when Madame, a woman who everyone thinks is cold, mean, and couldn't care less about them turns out to be fighting for them outside of the schools walls. This book would be interesting to anyone who likes books about futuristic situations. I could use this book to teach about foreshadowing. Chapter book read on 9/26/18.

My favorite parts of the story are when Jay does something extravagant in order to get Daisy's attention. This book would be interesting to students who like to read about books taking place in the past, who like to read romantic books, or who like to read books that have movies. I could use this book to teach imagery. Chapter book read on 9/26/18.

This is a great book about a boy who is partially deaf and his rocky friendship with his popular friend. Rocky because they are having a hard time telling each other how important they are to each other and still be stereotypical men. My favorite part is when Tyler, the popular boy, finally opens up to Ben about what's been bothering him. This book would be great for any teen who likes to read about friendships, don't like feeling pressured about college, finding out who they are, and who like to read about parties and dating. I could use this book to teach students about behaviors and life decisions. Chapter book read on 9/28/18.

This is a book about a place in time where books are thought to be bad and are therefore burned. I don't have one specific favorite part, because I like the whole point of the book. To think for yourself. This book would be interesting to students who find a world where no books are allowed interesting, or for students who like to read about government controlled societies. I could use this book to teach symbolism. Chapter book read on 10/1/18
