For my first item I chose Slovenian ŠTRUKLJI. It is a very good dish that I love very much. You can eat štruklji with different types of fillings. They can be sweet or salty, cold or warm and they can be steamed, baked or boiled.

Kurents are typical carnival characters in Ptuj and Maribor. According to tradition, by bouncing the kurenti drive away winter and evil from the land with a loud clang (ringing of bells), and call to it spring and a good harvest. Kurent is wearing a sheepskin, with bells tied around his waist.
