         <description><![CDATA[<ol><li>How did the time period in which the work was written affect how and why it was written? (Think: who was in power at the time Shakespeare wrote this?)</li></ol><div>In this time period Queen Elizabeth was in power and she died without a direct heir. England not having a direct heir&nbsp; allowed for confusion about who is suppose to be in power. This caused the idea of power, where it comes from and how it is used.&nbsp;</div><div>2. How does placing the piece in the context of our time period affect its meaning and how it is perceived?</div><div>This piece in our time period is applicable because who the power is given to today is harder to decide because royal "blood" does not exist (in America) like it did back then.&nbsp;<br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Person 1: Why bother viewing literature through the New Historicism perspective?  Why should we still use it to analyze literature?<br><br>Because "power is what controls us."<br>New Historicism explains that power is all around us and influences different people in different ways. We should use it to analyze literature because it helps to decipher what type of power a character wants or has. </div>]]></description>
