Charlie: And I am Charlie and I am 17 

Devon: What was your view of disabled people before the Paralympics?

Chloe: I just saw them as individuals 

Charlie: yeah, it didn't bother me 

Chloe: yeah, it didn't bother me, just them [individuals, being themselves]

Devon: What was your view of disabled people AFTER the Paralympics?

Charlie: The same! [laughs]

Chloe: Even though it was portrayed in the media quite a lot that disabled people couldn't do much for themselves, it was portrayed in the media quite a lot, but now it's seen that they can win all these gold medals and all this that they can do stuff as well as people who don't have disabilities 

Devon: What change did it bring?

Chloe: I think it brought around, they can be more independent on their own, they don't have to rely on other people 

Charlie: yeah, exactly what she said 

Devon: Are disabled people more visible now? In, like, advertising, television 

Charlie: yeah! 

Chloe: I don't think they are so...I mean there's not many disabled people in advertisements. Like, I remember seeing an advertisement a few years ago with disabled models instead of, you know, people that don't have disabilities, but you don't get it often, you don't see many disabled people in advertisements. Maybe, maybe television shows but definitely not advertisements. 

I also want to add, even though the Olympics was portrayed on BBC1 or ITV, so the two biggest channels on television but the Paralympics is only portrayed on Channel 4. Why is this? Why does the Olympics get better coverage than the Paralympics? Why don't they both get the same coverage?

Devon: That's a good point, thank you very much

Chloe: I think it, it really brings out like their abs and stuff. It's clearer to see as well.

Amy: It makes it look more professional 

Mia: It sort of brings your idea to life

Chloe: And it's very detailed, like very detailed

Devon: What message do you think this conveys?

Chloe: I think it conveys that even though someone has a disability they can still workout and...look like...all the muscles, do you know what I mean, just because they have a disability it doesn't matter

Devon: Do you consider my concept to be an original idea? 

Amy: Yeah, it looks like proper professional as well, like what you'd get in magazines and stuff

Mia and Chloe: Yeah

Mia: Like in sports magazines

Chloe: Or promoting like a protein shake or...it looks very, very professional

Devon: Do you think the use of the different camera angles made the images more exciting? And why?

Amy: Yeah, especially that one there [points at screen] where you can see his leg 

Devon: Yeah

Amy: It shows he's got a disability but it's not stopping him

Mia: But you can also see the shade of his muscles, he's not letting it stop him 

Amy: Yeah

Devon: What type of audience would my photos series suit?

Chloe: I think it would suit, you know, people always, you know, go to the gym as well, people that do that sort of thing but also, like, disabled people that might want to go to the gym but don't feel comfortable going, they can see that they can do it 

Devon: What gives my images a professional quality?

Amy: The way that you've got someone else to take photos of you taking photos, if that makes sense

Devon: Yeah it does

Amy: Does that make sense? Like, it's quite professional, to see all the sets and stuff

Chloe: It shows you took it. I think the photos are very professional. I don't know, I think it's the detail

Chloe: The editing that you've done as well

Mia: Yeah, how focused the photos are

Devon : What are the strengths of my images? 

Chloe: I think it's the detail and their facial expressions, they're proper into it as well. They look like they're enjoying themselves as much as you did! [laughs]

Devon: Yeah...shut up, I was drooling!

All: Laugh

Devon: Right, what are the weaknesses of my images?

Amy: I think you need to make them either all in black and white or all in colour

Amy and Chloe: Yeah 

Chloe: I was thinking maybe you could have like, printed them and out them on a wall somewhere, cause they're just kind of like there on Padlet, so put them up somewhere

Devon: Oh, yeah, when I do the exhibition

Devon: Um, what could I have done differently to improve my images?

Mia: I think the ones of you taking them, that they should all be edited as well

Chloe: I think that's just the evidence though, isn't it?

Mia: Yeah, I know but I think if they were edited as well, it sort of brings the lot to life on the Padlet page

Chloe: Yeah, I think the images you actually took were really good, I don't think there's much you could change about them. I think they're really good

Mia: And I like his tats!

Devon: They're cool

Chloe: It's a focus group!

[laughter]

Mia: Sorry! I'm saying what I like, she's captured a photo of him with tats! 

Chloe: I think you could have had a few more women, maybe

Devon: I tried but...

Chloe: 'Cause it's all for, you know, you guys can look...I can't! 

Devon: There was only one [woman] that was like willing to do it so...

Chloe: Yeah, maybe you could try and get some more females in it

Devon: But, I didn't mind, it was mainly males in it!

Chloe: We know you don't mind, Dev, we know!

Devon: So, out of 10, how would you rate my creativity in my images? 

Amy: 9

Chloe: 11
