I give this book a  5 star rating because it keeps the reader hooked, and it is suspenseful. It is about a dog named Storm who became an exile after leaving her pack. She journeys to find Bella and Arrow, but along the way she has to face many obstacles. She has to deal with a pack of wolves, long paws (people), leashed dogs, and the fierce dogs who survived the storm of dogs (a big battle between the wild pack and the fierce dog pack). I would recommend this book for anybody that likes fantasy. It is about a girl named Maeve,  who lives in Ard Macha, Ireland. Before the story begins, Maeve's sister, Ishleen dies from an illness after Tom Cavan (Maeve's enemy) unearths a piece of ancient armor. Later on, a spirit appears when Maeve is visiting the ruins (an old castle.) She gives her two bottles, one for herself and one for her mom. She said they were in great danger. Then, Tom Cavan came over and broke her mom's bottle, so Maeve gave her mom the bottle that was meant for herself, and the top of the bottle that was meant for her mom. Her mom suddenly has a vision that Ishleen will come back to them. One day, when her mom takes off the bottle when she is giving birth to Ishleen, her soul drifts away from her body and she is trapped somewhere unknown. Maeve takes the necklace meant for herself off and puts it on Ishleen to protect her, but the lid to her mom's bottle stayed on her neck. Ireland is having a war with England, and Tom Cavan later tells the English where her father is, and he becomes a prisoner. Tom then tries to force Maeve to be his wife but she refuses. He tricked Ishleen into taking off her bottle, and she succumbs to the same illness as her mom. Maeve then goes on a quest to save them and to return their souls to their bodies. It is about 3 magical animals (familiars), who need to save the kingdom from the evil hare, Paksahara and her dead army. They have to collect the 7 descendants from the original leaders of Vastia (The First Phylum), and bring them around one of the three glyph stones to summon the Shifting Fortress. Then, they can release human magic back to Vastia before it is too late. They try to find out what this prophecy means, as the Clans battle for territory, and Two legs (humans) invade their land. It was the queen's birthday party, and the 3 characters planned to give her a present, but someone put a mysterious curse on their gift, and the queen fell into a deep sleep, which she couldn't wake up from. Aldwyn, Skylar, and Gilbert, embark on a journey across Vastia hoping they can find a cure for the queen. She is a member of the Lleshi family, who are Albanians that live in Kosovo. But, during the Kosovo War with Serbia, they had to run away from their country, and find a new home. They have to endure many things, until they find a refugee camp and fly to America. There, they live a better life, but they came just in time to witness the events of 9/11, and they face discrimination because of their race. However, they learn to change their thinking, and endure the bullying in the school. I give this book a 5 star rating because it is descriptive and interesting. It is about a girl named Melody, who has cerebral palsy. She cannot move or speak, but her mind works perfectly well. She has a photographic memory and is very intelligent. However, all of her thoughts are stuck in her head, and she can't get them out. She also gets bullied in school because of her disability. Then, she finds a machine that will allow her to say something for the first time, but the school kids aren't open to hearing all she has to say. After that, her mom becomes pregnant and Melody meets her little sister, Penny. Later, she joins the Whiz Kids team and competes. She helped her team win and got many questions right. But, after they won the first competition, they were supposed to go to the next competition in Washington D.C., but her team abandons her. After that, she is determined to go to school, to show that she wouldn't be defeated that easily, but when her mom was driving out, she crashed into Penny. Penny had a serious injury but healed later on. After that, Melody found out they got 9th place in the D.C. competition. She laughed and forgave her classmates. She planned to kill the pack's pups in sacrifice to the fear dog. Then, Storm regains the loyalty from her pack, and they all realize their mistake, and decide to search for the pups before it is too late.
