Catherine McAuley loved God so much and she expressed this by serving the people. She believed that we all needed God so she did her best to show God’s love to us. Catherine wanted to love and care for everyone she was around. She wanted the sisters of mercy to be close with God and for them to continue to server him. Catherine was the person to remove all negative feelings that embodied the poor people. Pope John XXIII called Catherine McAuley a spark of light which can mean she removes the darkness. Catherine never putted herself above others so she can feel good about herself. She wants to live as Jesus did not wealthy money wise, but very wealthy with love. (summary is too general and this is for page 87)

Preaching the word of the Lord should always be accompanied by a testimony which includes both how we speak and act. "Everyone who encounters her brings away part of her communicable sweetness and experiences a greater level of devotion to Him whose soul her entire exterior so wonderfully depicts," it was remarked about Catherine McAuley's personality. In the eyes of her contemporaries, Catherine McAuley was persona Christi, "radiating before all mankind the attractive qualities of Jesus Christ." As Vatican II puts it, since her perfection was that every moment should be spent with and for God. She only had one task to fulfill - to love God and transmit that love to others; one suffering to face - his Cross; and one pleasure to experience - his Joy of goal of committing her life to copying him; one pleasurable relaxation- trusting in God's providence throughout her professional life. The house of worship was a classic a place for meeting. Jesus' words and deeds were intended to provide an example for us to follow throughout our lives. She was aware of her responsibility to live out the Gospel, that she would often urge her sisters to “attempt to live in such a way that if our Divine Savior appeared on earth again, He would not be embarrassed to identify them as persons who are closely related and linked with Him and nearly associated to him.

Catherine McAuley was a kind-hearted person. Love was important to her; love was already born with her. Love made Mother Catherine participate in the recurring liturgical feats of the year. Love made her do many things. Love made her see good in people and malice in none. She was a good listener and she used to make each one feel accepted. She used to show love in many different ways. Her selection of Mercy demonstrates her involvement with salvation and its twin concepts of mercy and charity. Also, Catherine McAuley was a Sister of Mercy ‘par excellence’. She was a person who cared when one was in need, she was also first-rate in everything she did. She was also praised enthusiastically by John Henry Newsman as a person. From many notice in the newspaper, Catherine McAuley became universally known "This truly pious and patriotic Irish-woman should not drop into the tomb like those who leave no trace of usefulness behind them."

Authority should be used to persuade the person who is exercised that the need for authority is painful. Catherine McAuley had a superb gift of understanding and dealing with people. she wrote in a vignette of advice that we as Christians, should and find those people with beautiful capacities, help them develop those talents and guide them through the spiritual path. The council father once said that throughout our lives, we as religious should perfect our spiritual, doctrinal and professional development and that our superiors should provide us the time, opportunity and resources to do so. like wise, Catherine wished her sisters to keep educationally and culturally side by side going the same way on their times. In a RELIGIOUS religion, education and accomplishments of the highest kind are highly valued. At the same time, education for the sake of education should never be the objective of religious life. Religious possessed a knowledge of all sciences and was known for wisdom, prudence, and elegance, earning the respect of everyone. Mother Catherine desired for the superiors of her branch convents to follow her example and avoid legalism, rigidity, and to be constantly open to the spirit THERE ARE A FEW SECTION FOR THE TEXT!!!

Catherine McAuley was sent by God and God had a special mission for her to do. She had to take many journeys in order for her to accomplish that mission. Catherine McAuley had suffer more than any other in the group of woman in history. She was one of the greatest Irish servants of the Church Universal. In the nineteenth century was the time of the religious women, the Sisters of Mercy was one of the most powerful groups among them, at least in the English-speaking world. Catherine McAuley was parallel to such Irish saints. All the holiness has a divine idea of how this life illustrates some of the magnificent virtue of God-Man Jesus Christ. As regards to Catherine McAuley this virtue was love. She committed dedication in those early days of grace in Baggot Street.

This last page of the whole book is saying that by studying the religious requirements of another age, they can find and understand more pastoral solutions. They can find reinforce and control as they renew their structures, review their spirituality, embark on new apostolates and gather force to cope by speaking about God and guide the ones that are called to serve God. Mother Catherine has sufficiently demonstrated us over the 14 years the strength of her faith, the quality of her charity and the validity of her principles that guided her practical decisions. The world needs to reflect on these words. They need to find in themselves renew inspiration and strength so they expand their apostolates in this fashionable world.

It is vitally necessary for us religious to achieve some kind of mind-heart unity with God. God makes us solely for himself, to be linked to him in this life by love and devotion, and in the afterlife by fulfilment and bliss. Catherine McAuley would definitely understand the issues that today's church communities face, including rising age groups, defections and the mounting pressures that sisters face as a result of today's highly competitive consumer society, which is generally disregarded. Let us not forget that Catherine McAuley, aswell, struggled; but, like the psalmist she is, she could see with faith that "the end of the sky is the rising of the sun." She notified us that "sadness destroys and undermines union with God," who expects his workers to offer him praise, belief, confidence, and happily accomplish the job that has been assigned to them, regardless of its form or the seemingly insurmountable hurdles in their way. Catherine McAuley was a holy person who lived her life in the light of her encounters with God in prayer, Christ in faith, and the sacraments, especially the Eucharist. She was certain that to achieve her goals it was acquired from the Holy Sacrament of the Altar.

She was acutely aware that work alone is insufficient to keep a community together; as a result, her recipe for holiness demonstrated the lovely balance that characterized everything she attempted and achieved the holiness that she wish for all of her sisters is the perfection of the common life, donations, and religious observance. She is only a true religious woman who faithfully follows her rule in peace and love. In a modern world like now of ever-expanding prayer groups, it is important to remember that tradition and traditional devotions are important links with the spirituality upon which a religious congregation was founded. It's also important to remember that there is only one Christ, who is the God of all places, who is everything and in everything. Catherine McAuley was a down-to-earth person, a lady who lived in the present moment and believed in the theology of genuine grace.

Catherine McAuley never overlooked the fact that the sisters of mercy and other religious outward apostolate was a testament to the ideal of consecration. "Living in Jesus Christ through holy memory in order to attract others to his love and service" was her unbroken practice. As a result, she was a constant witness to the Lord's joy, "A sister of mercy should endeavour at all times to preserve a pleasant countenance." God's wish is for everyone who has sought his help to be happy. Because she lives by faith, nothing can take away a religious person's genuine happiness. Good goals are the outcome of careful thought based on trust. Rev. Roland Burke-Savage SJ, Catherine McAuley most recent Irish biographer talks about the main facets of her character, with its mixtures of strength and greatness, yet lit up with an easy gladness and liveliness of heart, reserve and gentleness, all captured through with a deep love and unshakable faith in God, which gave her power and emotional connection. Her tremendous love for God was manifested in an understanding easy generosity with a broad version, broadened and brightened with a penetrating faith and an outstanding courage based on firm certainty in God's backing. Catherine was committed to charitable activities, but she never forgot that her emotional compassion had to be focused through her sisters. Her open-mindedness, good humor, and compassion flourished inside her own circle before spilling out to the women and children entrusted to her care. Catherine was a skillful leader, but she never lost touch with her subjects, never allowing the success of her ideas to blind her to their individual well-being and happiness.

This document highlights Catherine McAuley's intellect and forethought self. She stated that each moral should be learned at a time and focused on how Christ did it himself. She was a comprehensive and easily accessible person. Unlike her colleagues, she was willing to aid the poor and needy. In November 1840, she penned a letter stating that the sisters were to spend more time with the needy and the impoverished, which drew Sister M. Francis' awareness. She would sacrifice herself for the disadvantaged and live with them and suffer rather than enjoying luxuries. She was also very careful; she had previously talked to several girls who appeared hungry but were afraid to ask for food. She had offered the proposal of visiting, but the Sisters accompanying her were to be well-mannered.

Catherine McAuley was a friendly, open-minded individual willing to hear comments and worries. She had been set to teach Christ to others. She highlighted commitment, loyalty, nobility, etc. She was quite diligent and because of the directions that she left; we know that. She was a humble person, and she promoted and defended Christ with all the counsel and guidance she has provided. She said we don't have to preach about something we've done, we ought to do a proper job, and we ought to know that God observes. We should ask God to shower us with His blessings. Catherine didn't think about love lustfully, she regarded love as love for Christ, and all Christ had made she cherished and enjoyed. Before you can use the concept itself on someone else, you need to know how to love yourself. What she stood for was Charity.

Catherine letter, as well as her many visits to these new convents, placing her squarely in the Pauline tradition of frequent travel and frequent writing. Mother Catherine used humorous poetry to entertain and ease her new and frequently quite youthful superiors, according to Sister M. Elizabeth Moore of Limerick. She styled her letter to these superiors as "Foundation Circulars" and frequently referred to them as "Foreign Powers." Her application of this principle of subsidiarity is recognized not only in her attitude toward superiors, but also in her approach toward any Sister to whom she had been entrusted. Catherine McAuley was therefore a compassionate respecter of people, she generated positive attitudes in those around her. She cultivated an environment of freedom and understanding among her sisters, and she wished for each of them to revel in the progress of all. SUMMARY FOR PAGE 91 AND NOT 90!!!

Catherine McAuley's legacy is also notable for her availability and sensitivity to the needs of others. She had her own unique method of encouraging this availability, for example, on the eve of the Wexford foundation, her letter of November 1840 encouraged Sister M. Francis Warde to be "ready to squander some time with guests and introduce her sisters." Catherine McAuley's willingness to bear cold and hunger herself reflected sensitivity in line with Christ's compassion for the multitude, rather than that the destitute "in Kingstown or elsewhere should be deprived of any consolation in our ability to offer them." She demonstrated the same sensitivity and delicacy of courtesty in her dealings with the two young girls who came to her for money in late November 1840, and she was certain she talked to them but was afraid to offer them food. Catherine was a very strong woman and she jumped over all obstacles that she faced. She compares humility to a tree virtue is the roots, Strength in the branches and the sap the growth. The way Catherine practiced her humility was very similar to how Mother Mary did. Catherine believes we must pray to God and good things will happen to us. But in reality many people may have good intentions in their heart but they express it in a very different manner. Catherine was given the title of Mother Superior but she did not like that so she insisted that the other sisters call her Reverend Mother. Catherine never putted ( NOT A WORD) PUT herself before others she wanted to be treated like everyone else and she even did some chores. She never feared death because if it God’s will then let it be done. Reverend Mother also that no living human should walk in front of God rather walk beside Him hand in hand.

We should attract People to God by the stuff we say and do, by our words and examples, and the activities of the institution, just like Catherine. We should also give honor to God by what we speak and the actions we carry out, so that everyone who hears or sees us is compelled to declare, “Glory be to God!” People devoted to God in an Order that works for the salvation of souls should be the most beautiful individuals to exist, and their impact which is limitless in their particular areas and lure everyone who come into touch with them to Jesus Christ. From 1819 and 1822 Catherine’s life was very lonely, under the strain of being an outsider, a lone Catholic in a violently anti-Catholic society, she built her thinking, prayer, faith, and love throughout these hidden years. Her life, like Christ’s, was an act of total submission to God’s will. This surrender was depicted in her acceptance of the inevitable and her decision to become a nun, her attitude towards the passing caused “sorrow cling close to Baggot Street” and formed her “annual tribute to the grave” and in her acceptance of sister M. Elizabeth Harley’s death. She also provided continual expression to surrender by abiding by her saying “a Religious’ optimism and worries should always concentrate on God alone." By extension, surrender implies obedience, and according to Catherine McAuley, "obedience creates the nun and encompasses all her responsibilities."

Christ’s union with the Almighty or as Don Marmion puts it his repose in sinu patris, was an ideal that guided Catherine McAuley's ideas and beliefs each one of them, her steps and effort too. Catherine also said “God is our center, “meaning in everything we do, we should include God in it, she continued to add “from whom all our acts should stream as though from their source, and no external activity should separate us from Him” The belief that God is the center of all truth in the universe viewpoint is evident again when a busy foundress, Catherine, could nevertheless declare- despite being forced at times to question herself on awakening as to her location. “In all our wandering, we have one source of comfort: our hearts can always remain in the same place, anchored in God, for Him alone we travel ahead or back.” Catherine McAuley's implicit confidence in God's providence directed her into roads she didn't choose, and it was because of her broad interpretation of the Gospel ideal of mercy and her realization of the necessity for continual retreat. As youngsters ourselves we need to learn to love God above all else and loving one’s neighbor is also key, as we also start getting older, we should prioritize to seek the Kingdom of God and putting all else second. Her favorite suggestion was, "Let us often fly to the foot of the cross and rest in the arms of Jesus." It was accompanied by her promotion of devotion to the holy heart. “fountain of all grace and dearest object of our love,” says the Bible.
