In the romantic drama “Brooklyn” from 2015 we meet the young girl Eilis. Eilis, who is really clever and ambitious, lives in Ireland with her sister and mother. Seeking for a better life, Eilis immigrates to New York In 1951 and gets a job at a department store. The homesickness almost takes away the hope from Eilis, but after some time she falls in love with a young and charming Italian man, who she marries in secret. Eilis’s sister dies at home in Ireland, which compels Eilis to go back to Ireland. Here she starts a romance with an Irish man, but decides to go back to New York and be with her husband and start a new life in Long Island.
 

Brooklyn is a movie from 2015, and the director of the movie is John Crowley. The movie takes place in Ireland, in the early 1950’s. Eilis Lacey is a young woman with lots of ambitions. She moves to Brooklyn for a new job and leaves her mother and sister, Rose, behind. At first she is homesick, but eventually she settles down, starts studying to be a bookkeeper and meets a young man, Tony. Suddenly her sister dies, and Eilis returns back to Ireland. She and Tony decide quickly to get married before she leaves. Back in Ireland Eilis is offered a new job and reunites with an old friend, whom she’s getting an eye on. She ends up traveling back to Brooklyn and Tony.
