He was playing it with his his daughter, Princess Pea next to him. Princess Pea saw Despereaux and told her father. Despereaux was in love with Princess Pea. The King thought it was a bug. Despereaux's brother was gathering food, when he saw what was happening he quickly went to tell his father. The Princess picked up Despereaux and showed her father.  No rodents allowed!  He was very angry.
