Whilst I like the look of this lens, I also asked a few friends and my sister which they think would work with the narrative better and they all agreed the camcorder would as even though the lens gives a nostalgic feel to the footage, It simply didn't feel as casual and candid as the camcorder which I agreed with. By using the camcorder over this lens, there is also a much greater contrast in the tone of certain areas of my film, emphasizing the different emotions i want to portray in different scenes much more clearly.

The lens also, unlike the camcorder, is a fixed focal length which I find limiting for points in the film where I want the character holding the film to zoom in and zoom out on certain things. The lower quality of the camcorder also takes the emphasis off the camera and technical side of things in my film allowing a more raw feel - something that is a key part of the project.

The video vlog I have attached above was also an attempt to get more comfortable vlogging to make the acting on my side more authentic when it comes to making my actual project. It was helpful to my project overall as it gave me a grasp of how actual conversations may sound while being recorded.

Another change I made was focusing more on the body language of the characters - something which has been influenced by the show "Normal People". I used open and closed, arms resting on things and hands in pockets / crossed over, to help show how my characters are feeling at points in the scene as well as how they view their relationship. When their body language is open, The character feel connected to the other and when it is closed they feel more distant.

The last change I made was in the scene where Ray is with his group and starts to have a panic attack. Originally, I had the entire bit of him leaving the room and rushing to the bathroom however I decided instead that a shorter build up to the bathroom scene would be more impactful. Shortly after Ray starts getting anxious, we cut to the full blown break down in the bathroom - by doing this I can more accurately portray how hazy panic attacks are as you do not think straight. They are also very sudden for some and by making the stark contrast from being somewhat chill to breaking down in tears it intensifies the impact of the scene on the audience.

In conclusion, these changes improve the overall flow of the script as well as making it much clearer what the characters are feeling at given times.
