We found this an issue because we are both in sports.  For the past couple of years, this has been developing more as an issue because people have been choosing to change their gender and participate in the sport they identify as. 
  We came up with an idea for our topic, we decided that we should make an online petition so people in our community can sign it and help spread awareness. We got an unexpectedly high amount of signatures, we even talked to Steve Deace and Pulse 101.7 they both helped us out with spreading awareness. On social media, we did get some hate comments but we learned how to work through them. Shae mentioned that we didn't get a representative to respond even though it would be cool for him to respond he didn't. 
      Some of the things we learned through this project are how to help our community and how to do it right. I was personally surprised by how many people signed and had Pulse 101.7 talk about our petition on the radio. Like Shae said now we know how to take a stand in our government and help out with policies and laws.
