The production of ethanol does not help fight climate change. The equipment requires fossil fuels and coal-powered ethanol refineries lead to higher greenhouse gas emissions. 

Ethanol is blended with gasoline it helps burn fuel more effectively and produce less pollution. 

Ethanol production is tied to factory farming of livestock. It produces by products that can be used as feed for animals and then the factories sell the manure for fuel for ethanol plants.

In the future, corn ethanol shouldn't be seen as a solution to our fuel consumption.
