Data education...for our students? My biggest barrier is that my efforts feel piecemeal - I help here and there with data projects, finding relevant datasets, etc., but there doesn't seem to be buy-in to offer programming to a larger audience. I feel like it's seen as not necessarily "a library thing."

Creating Data Management Plans is not a new activity. But I find many PIs don't take time to learn about changes in policy (eg new NIH policy) until they are about the submit a proposals. When it is often too late to bring them up to speed the policy etc.

I haven't been to any data workshops but the series of systematic review workshops recently was excellent.

I took a Fundamentals course via NNLM. I don't remember the full name of the course. While I enjoyed the course, I feel like I'm slightly above novice on the data topic, but I'm not at the level of expertise of my data librarian colleagues.

NNLM has a class on open tools for data de-identification that goes in-depth on the NLM Scrubber which is designed for EHR text - BUT the class also lists other tools, one of which works on images: DICOM Library
