I chose this video for many different reasons. I know that taking notes can be difficult sometimes especially when you're trying to keep up with what the teacher is saying while copying their written notes. Also, sloppy notes are hard to read while you're studying. Short hand note taking can save a lot of time and headache. Shortening words or using symbols in your notes lessens the time you spend taking notes and alleviates trying to interpret what you have written. Taking written notes before class is also beneficial. It allows you to listen for any additional information your teacher may add.

I chose this video because it can be hard to find effective study tools. Flashcards, when they are used correctly, really enhance your memory and make studying a little easier. I personally love using flash cards for studying. For every class, I have different sets of cumulative flash cards. In the video he stated that an effective way to retain information was to relate them to pictures. One tip that was not included in the video was using color. I like to color code my flashcards because color enhances learning and memory and also makes your card more visually appealing

I chose this video because as a student, I hear the phrase "study more" very often. Sometimes when you "study more" you still don't preform as well as you had anticipated. I think "smart studying" is a tip that all students should use. Not only will you understand the material, but you're also rewarding yourself for doing something that most students dread. I found the SQ3R book studying tip that was mentioned in the video very helpful. Giant textbooks can be very intimidating but knowing how to break down the material by using the SQ3R acronym can be beneficial.

I chose this article because it discusses the psychology of studying. As students, we know that we have to study in order to preform well in a subject but some of us may not exactly know how to study. This article breaks down the meaning of studying and also gives studying tips from a cognitive psychologists' viewpoint.
