         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Google Classroom</strong></p><p>I have used Classroom quite alot. It allows me to keep track of marks, but also to give personal feedback through a note or private comment.</p><p>It also integrates well with Google Suite, so it's easy to connect your feedback to a Google Doc or Google Sheet, etc.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>YouTube</strong></p><p>I have also used YouTube to give feedback to students, where I can record a short video talking about how the student or group of students have done. Alternatively, you can use YouTube to give a video tutorial or some general guidance of a problem. Then, YouTube allows you to post a video as <em>private</em> so that only people with the link can view the video. Works great!</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Google Docs</strong></p><p>Often times when students submit work, it will be through a Google Doc. This works great because you can leave comments throughout the work. You can highlight a word, sentence, or paragraph and then leave a comment connected to your highlighted section!</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Google Classroom (GC)</strong></p><p>I starting using Google Classroom during covid. It’s a convenient way to leave private personalized feedback on student work and, in the case of the assignment needing changes, return the assignment for review. After making changes, students can resubmit to the teacher. It is also possible to create a virtual rubric using GC, making it clear to students how their work will be evaluated.<br></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Google Docs</strong></p><p>The tool I use most within Google Docs is the Comment feature for real time feedback on specific parts of a document. Sometime I will even leave a comment on a student's work from across the room if they are not on task ;)  I also utilize the “Suggesting” mode to suggest edits that students can choose to accept or reject. I like that it allows me to make suggestions but the students ultimately make the choice. One of the most helpful tools in Google Docs is the ability to see Version History. Here I can see all the work done over time. This tool is especially handy when a student deletes all of their work by accident.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Seesaw</strong></p><p>I’ve used Seesaw mostly in primary grades. It is an app where students can create their own digital portfolio and upload work simply and easily. As their teacher I can provide real-time feedback directly on their posts. What I liked about Seesaw is that I was able to leave comments, voice recordings or even a video to provide feedback.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://chromewebstore.google.com/detail/talk-and-comment-voice-no/djnhkfljnimcpelfndpcjcgngmefaobl?pli=1">Talk and Comment</a>: Voice Notes Anywhere</p><p>This is a Google Chrome extension that allows you to make voice notes on any site and then easily share the voice notes using a link. I think this could be very helpful when giving students feedback on almost any kind of assignment.</p><p><br/></p><p><a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://www.screencastify.com/">Screencastify</a></p><p>Screencastify would be helpful if you wanted to<em> show</em> the student something about their assignment while giving them feedback. Instead of just having a voice note (as you would with Talk and Comment) you also get the video portion with Screencastify so they can see exactly what you’re talking about. I’ve used Screencastify for this course (and for another course I’ve taken) and I think it would be easy enough to us it for providing feedback to students.&nbsp;<br></p><p>Google Docs</p><p>I’m sure most of us have used Google Docs before and know how easy it is to create comments for others to see. This would be a good tool when providing feedback to students on their written work. You can simply insert a comment right where you would like it to be and once the student has made a change, they can resolve the comment.</p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><br/></p><p><strong>Check-my-Progress</strong>: In my first year of teaching, I utilized an all-encompassing online platform called 'Check My Progress.' This tool was beneficial for parents, students, and teachers. I could input assignments from various terms along with their descriptions. It also included students' grades, the weighting of formative and summative assessments, and comments. Parents were given online access to monitor their child's attendance, assignments, and scores, ensuring their active involvement in their child's academic progress.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Moodle Digital Rubrics/Comments</strong>: I utilize an online platform, Moodle, designed with the user in mind. It includes a grade book where each assignment has specific criteria and an associated rubric aligning with the assignment outcomes. I can assign a grade using the rubric and comment on the student's performance for every assignment. The platform also enables me to provide feedback by leaving comments and notes on the student's assignment, indicating areas for improvement or highlighting their strengths.</p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Edmodo:</strong> Edmodo was an educational technology platform for K–12 schools and teachers. Edmodo enabled teachers to share content, distribute quizzes and assignments, and manage communication with students, colleagues, and parents. Grading can be handled directly on Edmodo through an easy-to-complete touchscreen device, and students can view their grades immediately on the site. You can leave comments on assignments and provide a grade, allowing students an up-to-date look at their progress. </p>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Here are some tools I can use to give feedback to virtual students:</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Zoom:</strong></p><p>I can use Zoom for personalized, real-time video discussions with students. It allows face-to-face interaction, screen sharing, and annotation features for reviewing student work and providing direct feedback. The breakout rooms feature makes it easier to give individual attention during group activities.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Padlet:</strong></p><p>Padlet is a digital whiteboard for collecting and organizing student work, questions, and ideas. I can provide written feedback directly on student posts. The collaborative nature of Padlet allows students to interact with each other's work and provide peer feedback.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Kahoot!:</strong></p><p>Kahoot! is a game-based learning platform for assessing student understanding. I can assess understanding in real-time during quizzes and provide immediate feedback on answers. This allows for quickly identifying areas where students may be struggling.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p><strong>Google Slides:</strong></p><p>Google Slides allows creating interactive presentations and collaborating with students in real-time. I can use the comments and suggestions features to provide written feedback on student work. The ability to share control and edit slides collaboratively allows for providing feedback and guidance as students are working.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>References:</p><p>Disco.          <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Google Classroom </strong>- create assignments for students in Presentations, Docs, or Sheets. Provide feedback to students by using the "Comments" feature. I just learned that you can create a "comment bank" to draw on as you assess student work.</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Flip </strong>- Record yourself explaining the project or assignment to students. Then, they record themselves replying, showcasing their project or assignments and explaining their features. From there, teachers and/or other students can provide feedback via the comments section built into the platform. Teachers can also post <a rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://help.flip.com/hc/en-us/articles/360042479314-Add-private-comments-to-student-videos">private comments</a>. A significant advantage of using Flip is that you can set the permissions so that student comments have to be approved before they show live.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p><strong>Seesaw</strong> is an online student portfolio. Students can showcase their work, and teachers can provide feedback through comments and annotations.          <description><![CDATA[<p><strong>Google Classroom: </strong></p><p>In the past, I have used Google Classroom to keep track of assignments and marks. I first used it during Covid as a way to teach online. I liked how I could provide students with personalized feedback that only they could see. It is a great way for students to send and receive feedback from teachers and resubmit work that has been evaluated.  </p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Seesaw: </strong></p><p>A teacher whom I work with showed me Seesaw and how it works with her students. It is a digital portfolio where students create and interact with their portfolios. Seesaw is pretty simple to use and teachers can leave real time feedback for their learners. </p><p><br/></p><p><strong>Kahoot: </strong></p><p>Kahoot is known for its multiple choice style game that is commonly used as a reward or a fun activity for classrooms. Kahoot can be used for formative assessment by creating interactive quizzes that students can all access. It's great for getting real time feedback on who is struggling and needs more support. Teachers can go back and see which students answered correctly, how fast and how many they got right/wrong. I have used it before with social studies, math or novel study groups.          <description><![CDATA[<p>Google Classroom</p><p>I used google classroom a lot in the past and found it a really great tool to assess student work and progress. I liked that I could look a the editing history to get an idea of the thought process that students followed, that I could see who did what sections in group projects, and that I could ask questions or leave feedback directly in the documents for students to see exactly what I was talking about (like leaving notes on a paper). I found that being able to target areas of their assignment made the feedback more applicable and easy for students to follow and understand.</p><p><br></p><p>Youtube</p><p>I have never used youtube to provide feedback for students, but I could see how it would be really valuable to provide video feedback for some students. Being able to talk and show a student through the feedback would be really valuable for students to understand my thought process and why I am giving the feedback that I am, as well as it would help them build a connection with me.</p><p><br></p><p>Kahoot</p><p>I have used Kahoot to give students more of a formative feedback during review sessions where they have a change to answer questions with their class, and then I explain the answer. The students have a chance to try to answer the question, and they get instant feedback of the answer being correct or incorrect. Then I give a quick explanation of what the answer is and why, and they get another form of feedback for them to build new understandings on. This works really well in an in person classroom, and I could see it being successful as a synchronous online strategy.</p>]]></description>
