Tiger shocked executives at Microsoft by offering the fast file searching and improved graphics processing,Tiger is the longest running version of Mac OS X. snowleopard--> Snow Leopard was the last version of OS X that ran on early edition Intel Macs.r around 25 percent of active Macs. The implication is that these users are still using older Macs lion-->t brings many developments made in Apple's iOS, such as an easily navigable display of installed applications, to the Mac, and includes support for the Mac App Store. · Advantages of Puma:

It has easier CD and DVD burning — better support in Finder as well as in iTunes.

· Disadvantages of Puma:

System performance — the system performance in version 10.1 was greatly improved; it was still deemed 'not enough' for many to adopt Mac OS X as their main operating system.

Mac OS X “Jaguar” version 10.2

· Advantages of Jaguar:

The technology allotted the task of drawing the 3D surface of windows to the video card, rather than to the CPU, to increase interface responsiveness and performance.

· Disadvantages of Jaguar:

It’s currently not supported.

Mac OS X “Panther” (version 10.3)

Advantages of Panther:

Exposé: Helps the user manage windows by showing them all as thumbnails.

Mac OS X Fedora

Better security.

disadvantage- 1) touch interface
- 2) it goes to start menu instead of the desktop menu
- 3) confusing for all users

advantage - 1) very fast
- 2) can use on tablet
- 3) a better desktop experience

window 7

disadvantage - 1) needs ram capacity of atleast 1GB
- 2) many users have encountered the problem of BSOD with window 7 and have reportered.This problem
occurs often because of the software and the hardware changes in the system
-3)only the high ends computers can installed the window 7 and it can be used only in highly
configures system

advantage -1) automatic defragmentation of the hard disk
-2) windows media player version proof to be good
-3) windows defender has proved to be the best in giving protection to the system

vista

disadvantages - 1) RAM requirement is minimum 512 that it give poor performance to utilizes more virtual memory
- 2) windows vista is prone to security issues include virus , spyware and malware.
- 3) vista performed file operations such as copying and deletion more slowly than other operating system

advantage- 1) speech recognition experience that lets you interact with your computer by voices
- 2)types with on screen keyboard

Advantages

· Runs on a much smaller system.

· It does not have the overhead of a multitasking operating system.

· Since it runs on a smaller system size, it will "boot" much faster than ANY windows version.

Disadvantages

· Very few "new" programs available, therefore you need to be able to write programs in many cases.

· It’s a Single Tasking OS (One application can run at a time).

· It does not support Graphics and Networking.

Windows XP

Advantages

· It has a high stability of the system.

· It can be used to share applications in real time to all world.

· There’s no problem or conflict between the software and hardware.

Disadvantages

· Many viruses often attack Windows XP6. Systems are less stable as well.

· It is expensive.

· The absence of the Java Virtual Machine as Windows previous generations.

Ubuntu

Advantages

· Most secured operating system and defines the highest level of security as compared to other operating system.

· Most popular Linux operating system.

· Most software in Ubuntu is pre-installed to improve user experience.

Disadvantages

· It is very conventional to new technologies.

· It is very perceptive to faults in hardware which makes it less steady as compared to other operating systems

· Little hardware support for Ubuntu OS (users usually complained that it becomes difficult to configure modem to start work on internet)

· Not possible to play the modern games in Ubuntu OS. (shows poor graphics quality and have to use emulators to do so that harms the graphics quality)

Windows ME (Millennium Edition)

Advantages

· Offers some compelling reliability improvements that make it a must-have upgrade for the users.

· To make it easier to work with photographs and other pictures, Microsoft has added a new version of Windows Image Acquisition (WIA) to Windows Me.

· Due to an interconnected age of pervasive Internet access and smart devices, it's becoming more important to shield end users from the complexities of the underlying network.

Disadvantages

· It is expensive.

Win 10

Advantage

Windows 10 will be great for gaming , Microsoft is bringing bug changes to PC gaming with Window 10. Windows 10 will also include a “game DVR” mode to allow recordings of the at last 30 seconds of play , all better for the social gaming.

Disadvantage

you should know that there are no update in windows media player, it is the same as it was earlier , windows 10 has removed the functionality to change the volume level using the scroll button present in the task bar.

Yosemite

OS X Yosemite introduced a number of visual changes , including a flatter , more modern look that emphasizes translucency , streamlined toolbars, and smarter controls.Yosemite also improved with new data sources , behaving more like a search engine by pulling in data from Wikipedia, Maps, Movies, News, and more.

Mavericks

Mavericks has mix o funder-the-hood features, enhancements for expert users, and new capabilities. There are better support for multiple monitors and Finder tabs improvements to performance and battery consumption, new Maps and iBooks apps and updates to Safari and Calendar.

Snow Lion

OS X Mountain Lion has over 200 new features, which also supports 14 new braille displays, which could be valuable and better hand writing recognition in Chinese
