Many elements of music have already been affected by AI, particularly in live performances and the function of record producers.

The use of AI disrupts live performances. The one between a musician and audience members is usually the focus of a musical. "Live performance is full of energy, emotion, and a sense of inspiration that comes direct from the performers on stage," states Shuker (2017, p. 47). The power of the performance relies in that real personal connection. That link might be broken if artificial intelligence artists begin to perform. As Beato notes in his video, "So It Begins..." Is This an AI or a Real Band? On Spotify, the particular AI-powered band already has hundreds of thousands of listeners (0:41). This demonstrates that while fans may not always keep mind if the beat is artificial intelligence (AI), audiences cannot be substituted by AI when it comes to the live performance experience.
The position of the record composer has also changed due to AI. Traditionally, a producer helps with audio mixing, final mastering, and general direction while working closely with singers to mold a song's sound. Beato (2025) reveals how artificial intelligence (AI) applications can now generate songs, lyrics, and even whole arrangements, which puts into question originality and creativity. Although the musical industry has always adapted to new technologies, Shuker (2017, pp. 102–105) reminds out that AI is unique because it includes a significant amount of automation. This can speed the process and provide producers with additional tools to work with, but it might also remove the human element that gives music its own unique style.
In overall, I think that AI has both advantages and disadvantages. It may accelerate up and improve production, but it also runs the risk of undermining the authenticity and sense of connection that give music meaning. AI may be useful scenarios for live performances and the jobs of producers, however it should never completely occupy the place of human imagination, that is the foundation of music.
