         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Find the religion that a majority of the people in your country are a part of. Answer- Christianity. It was introduced in the 1840's when the government of Chile supported the migration of settlers from Germany to the southern lake region.<br>2. Determine whether each religion is an ethnic or universalizing religion. Answer- Christianity is a universalizing religion. <br>3. Christianity is a monotheistic religion. The worship style is typically at a church or some type of building to praise God. The sacred text is the HOLY BIBLE. The architecture is a huge building with tiny crosses at the top. Typically in the inside it includes stained glass with scenes from the Bible.          <description><![CDATA[<div>1. Women in Chile traditionally include themselves into politics. In 2006 they had their first Chilean women president. Her name was Michelle Bachelet. In the 1960’s, campaigns for the Christian democrats brought more attention to women’s issues as a way of capturing the women’s vote.          <description><![CDATA[<div>1. One example of folk culture in Chile is a festival in Chile where they celebrate Chile's Catholic roots and honors the Virgin of Cameren, the patron saint of Chile. It starts on July 12 and ends on July 18, there is typically around 200,000 people. The top picture is the festival called de la Tirana. Another example of folk culture in Chile is called We Tripantu, or the Mapuche New Year. It beings just before sunset on June 23 and ends at sunrise on June 24. They believe that the winter solstice brings the renewal of life. The various activities include body painting, swimming and canoeing competitions to crown a festival queen. This usually occurs on Easter Island. The top picture is an example of the festival. Another example of pop culture in Chile is Tennis. A priest was accused of a sex abuse scandal.
