Research shows that weighted vests can help reduce the stereotypic behaviour of children with autism and help them focus better (Stephenson & Carter, 2008). From observation in this school, I have noticed that the weighted vest can calm down one child in particular and it will make him more relaxed.

Children with ASD can be extremely sensitive to noise. Research shows that a child's behavioral problems due to hypersensitivity to noise can be reduced by wearing ear defenders. They can also be effective in reducing the the stress and anxiety caused by noise when children are in noisy environments (Ikuta, et al., 2016).

A chewy is a therapeutic, sensory tool which can provide an autistic child with a calming and focusing effect. Children can often be prone to putting non- edible items in their mouth and this tool can be a substitute to this habit (Scheerer, 1992).
