My rationale for (1) is that since I lack any actual leadership experience in real life, it is good to begin somewhere in the entry level for me to actually experience what a leader is supposed to be and do. 

My rationale for (2) is that I have always been playing basketball, and I think being the captain in my neighborhood basketball team can further hone my basketball skills and my leadership abilities. A – I will polish my resume, cover letter, and interview skills. 

R – I will also try to apply for jobs that can lead me to an entry level leadership post.

T – I will start applying for tourism-related jobs by June of this year.


As a part of my action plan, I will need additional skills in leadership and management in order for me to get an entry-level leadership job or to be promoted to an entry-level position. In my free time, in addition to reading up on books about entrepreneurship, I will practice my skills in communication and supervision. For example, I have been going to a local Toastmaster seminar to hone my communications and public speaking skills. This way, I will be able to improve upon my existing attributes to prepare to become an entry-level leader in my first real-life job.

A - I will continue to polish my basketball skills, my leadership abilities, and my teamwork.

R - I will also try to become more likable to my team members.

T - I will obtain enough support from my team members by July of this year. 

The key to my Action Plan 2 is to be humble. While I do want to be the captain to look "cool" in front of my 'bros', I should not let this arrogance get a hold of me because being arrogant and cocky will likely ruin my motivation, likability, humility, and support from the team. Therefore, the first thing I need to do is to let my inner self know and realize that I should be humble and that I want to be the captain so that our team could play better and train better. This should be the key start to my Action Plan.

From there, as I said, I need to hone my skills to be one of the best in the team because a team captain is supposed to be able to carry the team to win. I especially like the notion that a servant leader is to help others first before serving one's own interests. I believe this is the key to true leadership and inspiration.

Therefore, upon realizing my leadership goals, I want to better align my life to be a servant leader. For my (1) leadership goal, the experiences I will have acquired from being an entry-level leader would serve as the foundation for me to further improve and learn to be a better leader. As a student with very little real-life experience, I need to gain this experience to allow me to grow and cross reference with my inner self to see which leadership applications actually work in real life. As such, I hope to become a better leader with the actual real-life experience after gaining the entry-level leadership experience. 

As for my (2) leadership goal, I sincerely want to play well in my basketball team and to lead my team to win more against other competitors. Although my basketball team is just an amateur team playing on the field and in community centers, the team members have been playing together almost every week for the past 5 years. We have formed quite a tight knot already, so I want to further inspire everyone to strive to win more and play better games. For my team members, I want them to become happier and more fulfilling from playing in our team.
