The song is about how despite our being the same race, having a different religion or skin color is met with prejudice and violence. Even though a person has never met the other before, they will develop an unjustifiable attitude toward them because they dislike their culture or religion, even resorting to outright fights to which the singer remarks, "I'm relying on your common decency
So far it hasn't surfaced, but I'm sure it exists". This song is still relevant today because of the hate crimes against certain minorities such as the shooting at New Zealand of President Trump's attempts to build a wall to block out Mexicans.

Everyone wants to survive and the best way to guarantee their chances of living is to accumulate their power. Power is tempting to humans in which they are willing to go to war for. Education allows us to have more free will and choose whether or not to obey to our government or start a rebellion. Rebellions allow for change and for new ideas to spread.

This song speaks about terrorism and racism. It depicts police brutality being unfairly focused onto minorities and the terrorists in our country include the CIA. The injustice of racism goes against the American dream and the song asks, "Whatever happened to the values of humanity?
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality?". It also brings up the deaths of children from acts of terrorism and racism, by stating, "Chemical gases fillin' lungs of little ones
With ongoing sufferin' as the youth die young". The survival of the innocent is threatened because of the lack of 'love' for others. The police and the CIA wield their power unjustly which makes the people cry out for a change or attempt to rebel.

Animal Farm

War- When the first battle break out between Mr.Jones and the animals, Boxer accidentally knocks a boy out cold and confuses him for dead. The animals tell Boxer not to feel sad and that it was a human therefore they should rejoice. This applies to how in real life, when a life is taken in war, they are dehumanized and merely dubbed as "the enemy" so that guilt is lessened on the conscious.
Power- Snowball and Napoleon struggle to lead the animals and to gain public approval. Napoleon, when he senses he has lost, uses force to chase out Snow and gains the title of leader. The animals under his tyranny slowly become more submissive and powerless when the pigs use their status to change the rules and make themselves rich. Power, as shown in Animal Farm leads to malicious decisions and can make one greedy and less concerned for the welfare of others.
Education-After the rebellion, the pigs immediately educate themselves and establish their race as the most clever and leaders of the farm. The animals who couldn't learn as quickly or as much became more submissive, like Boxer, and ignorant of morals and how their situation is comparatively worse than that of the past. Without education, the masses are more submissive and malleable for those who have an education.
Survival- The animals begin to starve while the pigs sell and ration their resources. When Boxer is supposed to be retired and living in a field, he is sold to the horse slaughterer, showing that greed overrides the concern for others lives.
Rebellion-The rebellion allows for new ideas and new leaders. Although the rebellion was successful, the meetings they employed and the leader they listened to worsened their lives and talk of future rebellions were strictly outlawed.

Used for protecting reputation.
Humpty Dumpty- Used to teach children that actions can have irreversible consequences therefore they should be careful. Was based on an old English cannon.
Three Little Pigs- Showing that dedication and hardwork should always be done and that shortcuts are bad.

The lyrics of the song asks for we the audience to change what we believe is wrong, such as racism and police brutality, by making that change ourselves. While the music is playing, there are snippets of both negative and positive events, showing what we need to change and what steps we have taken so far. It shows the starving African children nursing their hunger as they stare hauntingly into the camera, killing of minorities, the detonating of nukes in cities, and gang or clans that promote hate. The positive aspects are of presidents smiling and making good changes, MLK making a speech of people of color being equal, and an African child being fed. These events inspire us to change more and do good for the world by promoting unity.

It the video, her camp is crowded and has not a plentiful amount of supplies. At night, it's dark and it's like they're at peace despite being in the midst of a war. She then realizes what she took for granted before, such as education and privacy, and by the end of the video, she's no longer scared of the dark and interacts more with others.

It is relevant today because it is a message of world peace and a better future for the next generations. Michael Jackson's message is that the older generation should work together to eradicate violence and walls so that our children can inherit a better world to live in. This song is still relevant today because the images it shows accompanied by the lyrics are still major problems today. For example, there are children dying in low supplied hospitals and soldiers standing at borders, armed and hostile. These problems need to be addressed so that his mission of world peace can be achieved.

She is shocked and questions all that is happening to her. She says that she is sharing this so that people see what goes on in society and that there is no one she knows that would share with the rest of the world. By educating the people who watch this video, she wishes to become a spokesperson shedding a light on what has been previously not known.

After being exposed to the war unit and various media outlets pertaining to war, power, education, survival, and rebellion, my current understanding is that war is a means for countries to become richer and get rid of threats, power intoxicates the wealthy who pursue becoming even wealthier and richer while blocking out morals, education is a weapon that allows for free will or oppression depending on how it is used, survival leads to families killing each other and that no action can be seen as 'too far', and that rebellions, even with good intentions, can lead to further tyranny and lowered free will.

The lyrics involve important people, political/social events, and inventions. Although a baseball player and Chernobyl seem to have no visible connection, they all impacted society one way or another, hence why they are all grouped together by the time they occured, not the category. This gives us a "fire", which is a problem that not a specific group starts but accumulates and becomes stronger over time. Hence why it is always 'burning' and that 'we didn't start the fire'.
