How is globalization impacting the media in China?

Globalization has changed everything for most countries and China may be have received the greatest benefit from those changes.

With the reduction of trade barriers and the free flow of capital, China was permitted to become the manufacturing base for most of Asia, Europe, and particularly the USA. A company like Apple which once built and sold most of its products in the USA has recognized that it makes more sense to move all production overseas while retaining all product development and marketing within its small world.

By controlling -- undervaluing -- its currency, China created a trade and manufacturing environment that was able to underbid most of the producers in developed countries while underpaying its own workers and manufacturers. This allowed firms like Walmart to force vitually all of its suppliers to move production to China or to Asia. The great irony is that globalization trumped ideology as China made its "great leap forward" after it decided to participate in the global trade wars.
