Adventures In Puerto Rico

I love vacations. Especially Puerto Rico. Theres something special and memorable about waking up early to the sounds birds chirping and the palm trees blowing in the warm breeze. One morning as I woke to those sounds, I smelt the salt water of the ocean right next to where we were staying. It was my sister, my mom, my dad and I staying there. Assuming everyone was already awake, I left my bedroom and walked into the family room to find no one. I checked all of the rooms and on one was there. i walked out onto the balcony still in my pajamas to see them enjoying the view of the ocean, the warm breeze, and their morning coffee. About thirty minutes later we headed to the beach right down the street from where we were staying. The hot sand in between my toes felt so amazing and it was different to be at the warm beach in the middle of February. The ocean was calm like a bookshop in the middle of the week. After working on my tan for about an hour I decided to go take a dip in that nice warm ocean. The salt water on my hot skin felt refreshing. We went to get lunch at a restaurant on the beach that had the best fried fish bites ever. Later that night we went horseback riding on the beach and in an almond forrest. After five days of the beach and warm weather, it was time to go home. I love airports, but I was dreading the seven hour flight home.

Charlotte has been my best friend since day one. We grew up together since our moms had us at around the same time. She would always come over on Monday nights for pizza. We always made up dance and cheer routines to put on a show for our family. And we would have singing competitions. We danced in our fifth grade talent show together. It was sad when I had to move to New Jersey, seeing Charlotte was one of the things I missed the most, but we always hang out when we can. We always face time so its like we're together all the time! We recently just went to a sunflower and pumpkin patch to take pictures and catch up. Its always exciting when I get to see her and there will always be something crazy happing when we get together.

Cross Country Memories

One of my favorite days of cross country was freshmen year when we had an early Saturday meet. We had to be at the bus by 6:30 am. The cool air blew in my face as I left my house and rode my bike to the school to catch the bus with my team. We were at the park where the meet was being held at around 7:20. It was cool at the park the the sun was shining. The race I was running in wouldn't start for another 3 hours so I got to cheer on the girls and boys that were running before me. My stomach turned at the start line waiting for the gun to fire which meant I had to start running. It was still cool out so I didn't get too hot during that race. When it was over it was hard to catch my breath, but I got a metal for coming in the top 35! After the race was over my friends and I bought race t-shirts and snow cones.
