Dear CMTP, It's been an honor and a privilege to be on the faculty of this program since 2004. I love that CMTP interns become colleagues who are creating a tsunami of excellence throughout the field of multicultural psychology. For half a century, CMTP has met the challenges of the past and present, and by any means necessary, secured the future for those who will come after us. Let's keep the momentum going! Let's keep "lifting as we climb." Onward...

CMTP helped set me on a path that has been a blessing for me and those around me. Through the mentorship and leadership of CMTP faculty and peers, I learned about my capacity to be a leader, advocate, and voice. Even in my quietness, I’m fierce and courageous. Thank you to all my fellow interns from the class of 2015-2016, you were all role models. And to all of the amazing mentors and faculty, you all inspired me and showed me what was possible. It’s an honor to be part of this lovely legacy and family of psychologists! We stand on the shoulders of all who came before us; we wouldn’t be here without you ❤️

While working at BMC, I was so grateful and impressed to have such an amazing group of people working with our patients. I believe that this program is a staple and should be a model for many other schools to learn from. I have always enjoyed getting to know the faculty and students. Thank you for all your hardwork over the years.

I have been lucky to work with and mentor an amazing group of interns that are fully committed to social justice. I also want to give a shout out to all the faculty here. They are incredible humans, leaders in their field and compassionate people.
I also would like to thank those who came before us and had the vision to create a program like this in spite of the tremendous pushback. Their vision paved the way for many multicultural psychologists and social justice champions!
Dr. Sandra Mattar

On my first day at Dorchester House (community site) I saw something I had never seen before, signage everywhere in 3 different languages, English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. My eyes welled up with tears...this is just 1 example of the many opportunities and gifts trainees receive throughout the year and for the rest of their career. I am beyond grateful to be a part of the CMTP family and can only hope I am able to give back what I continue to receive. Congratulations on 50 years of indomitable representation, intellectual rigor, and innovative capacity building!

To this day, CMTP remains the ONE AND ONLY training experience in the many years of training in psychology, in which I felt validated and seen. It was the first time I did not feel I had to fight to prove that what I was experiencing was REAL. Being part of CMTP was a true blessing that came at the right time in my journey. It has served as much more than a training experience. It has been a true healing space. At CMTP I did not have to quiet myself to fit a mold that required me to abandon my culture and my light just to survive. I could be my authentic self. What a gift! I thank all of those who have made this space possible and continue to fight to preserve it for generations to come. Happy 50th Anniversary!!
Forever grateful,
Dra. Beatriz Bello

When I joined the new UMASS Boston Clinical Psychology Program faculty in 1989 as Practicum Coordinator, we were inspired & guided by Deborah Ridley Brome program co-founder & CMTP class of 1981 towards a vision of what knowledge for healing informed by culturally grounded, anti-racist social justice could be. I thank Guy Seymour, Herb Joseph of blessed memory (2008), Shani Dowd, and the visionary leadership that saw 50 years ago where Clinical Psychology should be going and how we might get there. I scrolled through the alumni list (yes all 50 years!) and saw valued colleagues & cherished alumni of our UMB program now in positions of leadership.

Throughout my increasingly long career, I have been admirer and beneficiary of CMTP. CMTP has won my admiration for its consistent commitment to social justice and professional excellence, pushing and transforming the boundaries of multicultural psychology, and serving as a transformative model worthy of emulation and recognition nationally and internationally. I have been a professional and personal beneficiary of CMTP as it has trained, fostered, mentored, and been guided and led by so many of my dearest colleagues and friends over so many years. Congratulations on 50 years--and keeping your eyes (and the eyes of so many others) on The Prize for the next 50 years to come! And thank you! Robert Kinscherff, PhD, JD
