As a BMMS teacher, I am always in awe of my colleagues and just how much they genuinely care about each of their students. Especially since we're in a pandemic, honestly, teachers! Thank you so much for getting up and teaching us virtually so that we don't lose our minds over quarantine! I can't thank BMMS enough. Each and every student is lucky enough to be placed in such a perfect school. Teachers are special to me in a certain way. Ever since I first entered BMMS, I felt the warm energy of the teachers flow through my heart. I am going to start by saying that this is also my last year. I am in 8th grade and so I have had so many great teachers. Especially now, in a virtual world, I am sure it is just as (and probably harder) hard to get up and teach us as it is for us to roll out of bed. Everybody around me these past month have been wonderful. Thank you everything, my experience at BMMS is one I’ll never forget. This year I have the funniest teachers I have ever had before. Mrs. Elpus and her bad dad jokes, Mr. McGurl and his random jokes in class, Mrs. Berkeley and her occasional jokes during class. Who ever thought that teachers working from home would ever actually happen. Yet here we are, your dogs may bark in the background, your cats may walk in front of the screen, you may talk to you class when you are muted, and it may feel like the most raw experience than you've ever had before. With all of the challenges, our BMMS Staff doesn't quit, they send text messages to each other at 10:30 at night because an idea came to them, they respond to student messages on a Saturday afternoon because they saw it come through, they console a parent who is having a hard day, and they are learning new tools on a daily basis. We know you are tired and we know you want the absolute best for each of your students. We are so lucky to have each of you apart of our #OneBurleigh team! You are fantastic.

Hello teachers I want to say thanks and just tell you how much I appreciate how you have adapted to online learning and how understanding you have been. All of my teachers have been so nice to me and you guys always try your best to make sure it is fun, safe, and makes sure everything goes smoothly.
Like I said before virtual learning is something new for all of us and all of you have been very understanding of the challenges we may face and made new lessons in different ways to help us out and make this year the very best you could have made it. Along with virtual learning, we have obviously run into challenges with this new way of learning but you always will never give up and work with us no matter how long it will take until the problem is fixed.
I would like to just give an example of someone who has done a great job at adjusting to virtual learning and did something we hadn't even thought was possible and that something is to create a working and effective, band, online classroom. Mr. Dubbs has been amazing and has worked around a bunch of problems with us and taken so much time to ensure a great virtual band experience. He's changed everything about his way of teaching and learned how to use new this to help us learn. He has done so well and has given us the best possible band experience.

We were very worried about our oldest starting 6th grade virtually but have been really happy with how both the students and teachers have made the best of a tough situation. I know a smooth virtual transition to 6th grade for hundreds of students doesn't happen accidentally - thank you so much for all your hard work and love from every member of the BMMS staff!

I was talking to my family, and I told them that I did not want to leave Burleigh. After the first week of Burleigh, I knew that I was going to like it here, as Annie says in the 1982 movie! This was all thanks to the environment the Burleigh staff created. And this was all within a week, in person! I thought that online learning was going to be too different, but the school has made sure that we learn as much as we can, and make it fun! They make sure our students' voices are heard about their school, and they cared about us so much. I cannot thank them enough! I will always remain a Bobcat, no matter how much time passes!

I am so thankful to people who turn on their cameras in class, because in distance learning there is barely any social interaction and in almost every class, I am always the only student with my camera on. Sometimes, she comes home really late at night. Then, the next morning she has meetings.
