Thesis (1): In this society, the government’s control is inevitable and unavoidable.

The government, in the story, is often mentioned as a symbol of power. For example, there are telescreens everywhere that blast the constant statement that Big Brother, the stories dictator, is watching you. Within the text, there are many parties and functions. For example, one, being the Junior Spies, that take innocent enough children and convert them to snitching little rats that are told to spy on their parents and report all they see. Moreover within the text, the Party is told to have civilians suppress their sexual desires as a mean of maintaining duty, seeing it as a nonessential activity, unless in terms of procreation.
Thesis (2): In “A Clockwork Orange”, the author uses sex and art as a metaphor for the overabundance of the lack of free thought.

Obvious innuendos within the text as well as especially in the movie are seen often times, even in the main character’s home. The art and women that are presented within the film, as well as the text, are presented as nothing but mannequins, and symbols of the powerless subject to an inevitably powerful government. This may show, as well in 1984, the escape of a government and will to express individuality.
