For example we greet family friends of the opposite gender with a kiss on the cheek. We celebrate by getting closer in ways like dancing and drinking. I take my shoes off before I enter a house as common courtesy. I love to eat Dominican food like fried Plantains.

Going to school I learned the English language, learned to play traditional American sports like football or basketball, and grew to love American foods such as pizza and burgers. Living life in the United States has allowed me to have greater opportunities than I would have had in the Dominican Republic.

This has allowed me to see the slight differences between Mexican and Dominican Culture. Some of these differences are the dances and music we listen to, certain traditional dishes from Mexican culture like tamales or mole’ that aren't Dominican dishes. Growing up and going through depression allowed me to gravitate to certain artists like XXXTENTATION or Juice Wrld. Now both have passed away, may they rest in peace. There are times when we are at our lowest and certain songs connect to us that save us from dark times and dark moments. Their music has inspired & influenced me to create the music I make today. Who cares if I prefer to listen to sad music. Sad music is real, with real emotions and feelings behind it.
