I helped create my former band, Wren, during my junior year of high school. For about a year and a half, we played shows in Denton, Dallas, Lewisville, and even traveled to play in San Marcos, Austin, and Houston. To this day, I have never felt quite so fulfilled and excited about something as I did about this band. It was and still remains a musical inspiration as well as an overall inspiration in my life to truly do what makes me happy.

Somewhere around the start of my high school career, I was introduced to the Denton music scene. I've attended AND played countless sets at venues around the area, and this is a large reason why I decided to go to UNT in the first place.

How Do You Define Music?

Throughout my life, music has been one of the only constants that comes to mind. I define music as the purest interpretation of thought and emotion through rhythm and tone, and every way I can think to define it sounds just as appealing and fascinating as the next. I interact with music on a daily basis by having earbuds in my ears 24/7, playing sets (singing and guitar) with bands or as a solo act, and writing my own music behind the scenes. It's my favorite hobby as well as a personal ongoing challenge. I'm in love with every music genre besides anything written and/or performed by Michael Buble, which I will never hesitate to repeat or emphasize on, so it's difficult for me to pick a "favorite genre." All forms of rock, however, would have to be my top interest. Music means that I can express anything on my mind in a beautiful way and listen to others' thoughts and feelings as well, a truly beautiful thing possible through such a seemingly simple form of art.

Music means communication to me. I say 'listen you people out there, listen to my music, let's be one.' Music is a friend to me when I am lonely, when I am blue. You can't define music 'cause music is cosmos and it knows no barrier or definition. You have to feel music to dig it.

Robert Plant

Tool is one of my favorite bands to listen to and watch. The intensity of vocalist Keenan is absolutely insane and adequately portrays the ridiculous amount of concentration it takes to perform such intricate and conceptual music as the members write.

Another one of my favorite bands, Title Fight exemplifies another style of music and performance that I love. The chords of their songs are ambient yet always intense, and their performance style is so laid-back that it makes every note look effortless.
